What is the one team/school you would NEVER root for?

tO$U, Miami, VT, Notre Dame, Pitt, Penn St. and...

1. No question, Notre Dame! They are all arrogant penises and to be truthful these feelings run all the way back to the game they stole from us in 1961 in South Bend
2. An obigatory nod to Cortland St., our arch rival in my playing days
3. Miami because they are also arrogant penises and the taunting that followed the 1992 game where the game ended with Gedney catching a pass at the 3 yard line in the Dome
4. VT, for obvious reasons
5. Rutgers... just because!
6. If basketball is considered, Georgetown, because I was in the house when Manley closed.

ND and Texas on that list.

I guess Rutgers but who really cares.

Also Nebraska - after they fired Solich - following a 9-3 season and bowl game and taking away Joe Daily.

Completely worthless thread. Any thread featuring "Syracuse" and "hate" that doesnt feature Georgetown is fatally flawed at its inception.

Also, Penn State ;)

Did not include Georgetown as this is in the football section.

1)PSU- No explanation needed

1a)ND-As a kid growing up during the Cold War, we all learned to hate the Communist Russians and Red Chinese. The crimes towards humanity and the brainwashing and terror they carried against their peoples were tragic. Fans of ND remind me of the "Heavens Gate" or "Bob Jones" type of cult mentality which can also be said of most PSU fans. They are willing to deny the devastation done to fellow human beings so that they can be fanatics about a game and clap along in a zombie-like trance. The rape, death of a student-assistant, and other covered up incidents cause by the sports programs are criminal. They are my Cobra to my G.I. Joe.

2)Kiffen the Grease Ball (I have always thought him and Calamari would make a great pair of villains in the Adam West Batman series. You know the kind of bad guy that is so pathetically flamboyant that you had to hate them. Their teams ooze the arrogance of what I teach and coach my students against; "poor citizenship, poor sportsmanship".

3)Turkey Neck Beamer- As much as "The Penguin" looked like a penguin, Beamer is dead on likenesses for "Mr. Hokie Bird". The way he teaches his players to head hunt and cheap shot opponents is criminal. I believe that the fruit of our labor shows our innards, and with the dirtiness with which VT plays, I would assume Beamer has a "swell" heart. I am glad Vick and his brother did not come here and I believe they fit right in. You can put Bowden in this category. Such lovely "Christian" men.

4)Ithaca Bombers- (Otto did you see what I did there? I made it red because we are taking again this year.) Two years in a row and we bring it home again this year. Eat that humble pie Otto!!! ;) I must say, The "Jug's" are mostly blue and y'all have owned the series for a long time (Every superman needs their villian and I am glad to play the part for ya, :p) If anyone is near CNY during "Cortaca" I would highly suggest going. You will have a blast. It is a throwback to what football was before all the money and power was injected into it.

5) Hill Floppers and Ole' Miss Klan- Both U's belong on the Hee Haw show and their overweight arrogant fans (who think they will win a NC every year) belong in the audience. The two most arrogant delusional fan bases I have ever been around (grew up in Memphis). I have been to "The Grove" many times and still am looking for the gorgeous SEC girls (they all spread the makeup on with a butter knife). Any guy that wears a bow-tie and jacket or seersucker suit to a football game should have his man card revoked and be "cup checked" with a swift kick.

6) The Inmate University- The downfall of our society is the fact that popular culture is teaching our children that everything our founding fathers created is rubbish and the opposite is the desired behavior. The reminds me of the show "OZ" which created a mentality that criminality is a romantic or acceptable behavior. I teach each day against this mentality. Why would I not be shocked to see have their team on C.O.P.s running out of a tattoo parlor during a raid discarding all forms of paraphernalia?

* I am not including Georgetown because this is the football side and would be my 2) for hoops with UCon's my 2a). UK is numero uno.

** Who is this Rutgers everyone talks about? A team must be relevant for me to notice them on the radar. Flash in the pan my friends.

I think for any 'Cuse fan born before 1980, it has to be Penn State.

They drummed us for many years and when we finally got to the point where we could play with them, they basically forced the ending of the series by insisting on a 2 for 1.

I tend to root against the "football factories", although I like when they play each other. Within the section/conference I'll root against our main recruiting rivals but always root for them in intersectional/non conference games because our reputation is tied to theirs.

Other than that it's mostly coaches. I didn't like Woody Hayes, Barry Switzer or John McKay. I started out not liking Bear Bryant and liking Joe Paterno but those positons reversed themselves over the years as I found out more about them. I used to be amused by Lou Holtz but not these days. Bud Wilkinson is my all-time favorite. I see him as similar to John Wooden. I don't like coaches who hop from job to job, often before the job is complete, (sorry, Nick Saban and cousin Lou). I also don't like coaches who bend the rules and get in trouble or leave their former employers in trouble.

It's more about the individuals than the schools, which are what individuals make of them.
