I think this team has the potential to be pretty good and have a punchers chance in any game we play. This team is also undisciplined and that really needs to change. I don’t think anyone has hit their ceiling in the group.

What historically drives me nuts it that when up somewhat big we don’t take advantage to drop the hammer on our opponents. Play gets sloppy and suddenly it’s a game again - like today.

It is a harsh reality. I remember when I used to avoid watching sportscenter because I didn’t want to see our highlights if we lost. Now we don’t even make any sportscenter highlights (part of the reason because sportscenter rarely shows highlights anymore).

My point was like you say we are irrelevant. That is the state of our program. The fact that we might hire within will only make things worse. If JB has us at 18-13 every year, the guy sitting next to him will be worse. So we are looking at 18-13 till JB is gone then another 2-3 years after that of even worse. By then will we have enough fans left to average over 15k a game? Will the job be attractive?

Ultimately it will be all about who is HC. That is how cbball works. History means jack shite. Given our program we should expect at least Huggins WV type of success. Even then our fans would bitch over that. I can’t imagine what will happen if we turn into 2000s Indiana B-ball.
