It looks like he's getting worse game-by-game. More and more often when he gets the ball, he tries to make something out of nothing and ends up with a bad shot or a turnover.

Does JB make DW a starter this season, or does he just keep giving Scoop or Triche quick hooks?

...ummm; same thing that happened to Scoop and Waiters earlier in season...2 of 3 played well so other sits...don't forget a few things before you blow Triche up:
1. First half come back was with Triche on floor for final 7 minutes or so of half...
--he led team with 4 assts and 2 steals; yup he didnt score but he played very good defense
2. As in the past, JB went with the hot guards...Waiters and Scoop
--Triche wasnt shooting well and in a game where the opponent is shooting 55+% you got to be scoring...so the better scorers of the night played
3. 'Cuse has interchangeable parts in guards and will continue to play them according to how they do that game and what opponent is doing

So dont rush to judgement on Triche or anyone else on team...like Dirty finally scoring on 3s...if he missed two in a row...out he comes...

A great win...and the depth with very good players is extraordinary...we will get to the final 4 and win the NC

It was an impressive win esp with no scoring contributions by one of our main cogs (BT). You would normally want your starting shooting guard (BT) to be a leading scorer, but he doesn't have to be with this team.

Didn't Boeheim mention something about an injury bothering him?

On any other 'cuse team Triche would be dropping 20 points a night. This year it seems that he is happy to do whatever is needed to win. Saw his just about jump out of his shoes tracking down a rebound last night to keep possession. I hate to reduce him to a "glue guy" but that seems to be his role at times this year. Speaks volumes about the depth on this team.

Someone in the chat room last night said that he'd injured his thumb in practice a day or two before the game. The way he handled (mishandled) the ball and shot poorly would make sense with that explanation.

Nothing... We are deep. Nothing more, nothing less. Triche will be fine.

He didn't look good even before the game started. I wondered at the time if perhaps he was sick.

Ignoring the thumb problem (since it seems like you honestly hadn't heard about it), Triche didn't take any bad shots last night. He had three, and each was a good look.

He was a non-entity last night, but nothing he did even resembled a bad shot or a bad turnover.

And earlier in the seaons people wanted Brandon and Dion to start and get most of the minutes. then Dion had a few off games and it was back to Brandon and Scoop. One of the very best parts of this team is three realy good guards letting JB go with the hot hand in crunh time. If things got real desperate, MCW could come in. Then there is the three main forwards, Chris, CJ and James playing the best 2 in crunch and 2-3 centers in Melo, Baye and Xmas. A decnet 9 man rotatin that can combine 5 hot players. (ok a streach with Xmas but he may prove valuable as the 3rd center)

3 games ago - it was triche who beat FLA and Dion who was hardly noticable. 3
GAMES AGO. 3 GAMES AGO. 3 GAMES AGO.

scoop was almost rakeem'd at the beginning of the season, if the fans got their wishes.

sbu is right. we have 3 options - at worst, 1 will play great, 1 will play good, 1 will be avg. who cares which is which.

Going to take a stab at it.
Triche is not the isolation threat that KJO, Dion are, and that scoop is becoming as of right now.

He only made one move off the dribble and it resulted in a turnover to one of the Harris(yes the Tenn.) brothers I think.

He will try some more attacking off the dribble and cuts under the basket its just we didn't need him to try to be a isolation threat with the way Scoop, Dion KJO were doing it( and Fair to a lesser extent).

Plus as a shooter Dion, Southerland Scoop were on in that department,
So we just didn't need to put the pressure on him.

He was alittle more logical last night. Which I am ok with when we don't need the scoring.

JB said that in the post game interview.

It get all your points and I'm not saying he sucks. IMO, it just looks like he's pressing a bit.

The question is though- with DW improving and gaining confidence in his play, does he get a start this season?

Here is a better question...Do you think anybody can ever get off the STARTER thing? Christmas starts too. He plays 2 minutes a game.Forget it. We're not going to change a thing. Why in God's name would you?

I am wondering when Triche will stop making all of those stupid offensive fouls - charging into people going to the basket. It seems to happen every game - they are obvious fouls and he has been doing that for 2 years. It would be nice to see some learning curve instead of repeating the same mistakes. What makes it especially hard to undersand is that he seems to always have his emotions under control but continues to charge into people, which is what I might be able to better understand from a more mercurial player.

Jim BoeHeim: "It dosen't matter who starts , It's who finish's " 1976,77,78,79,80,81,82,83,84,85,86,87,88,89,90,91,92,93,94,95,96,97,98,99,2000,2001,2002,2003,2004,2005,2006,2007,2008.2009,2010,2011, 2012?

How many times do we need to see this same post, just with a different name??? Earlier it was Scoop or CJ or JS. Last year every other week it was Waiters or Triche. How about the fact that some days players just don't have it? And with the depth we have, a slow start can keep you on the bench. It's very likely that if we didn't have this depth, JB would be forced to stick with guys longer and they'd shoot themselves out of their funk.

But plain and simple, nothing is wrong. Maybe he's a little banged up, but who isn't? Next game he'll go 4-6 from 3 and everyone will wonder what happened to Scoop, who only had 5 points.
