They were 12-9, having gone 3-4 in their last seven games. Suddenly, they've beaten four straight ranked teams by a total of 42 points. They will play #5 Purdue on Sunday with a chance to have a fifth straight victory over a ranked team as an unranked team, (a distinction that will last until the polls come out).

It must be nice.

C'mon.....there is nothing that Rutgers can do to make it nice being Rutgers.

I don't understand how that resume can put them on the outside of the bubble when teams like UNC and Wake are considered safe.
well when you lose to uMass and at home to LAFAYETTE...

Their window is closing quickly, with Harper and Baker seniors. They will still have big Cliff, but their recruiting has been really bad for the past couple years.

Shouted from our open window...

Then they lost to Illinois by 35, then beat #1 Purdue the next game. And they just beat Illinois by 11, a 46-point swing from the first game.

Its mainly the RAC being back to what it was in its heyday. Rutgers is 32-3 at home in the last 2 seasons with fans. They are generally terrible on the road

They brought back a bunch of players and are a good team.

Its a shame they choked against Houston and we didn't get to play them in the Sweet 16. Oregon State would have been up after that.

Ugh. Not an ex UConn guy. Has bad ending written all over it as soon as Hurley crumbles.
All I know is he can coach. Problem is he'll make ~ $3.4 million per year over the next four years. No way in hell SU will give him a big raise.

Wildhack brought in Mike Paulus for a reason. Its time to see if he’s getting it done.

Yeah I'll believe it when I see it in terms of SU doling out BIG $$$ to a new coach.

If your counting on Paulus to raise funds so we can pay a competitive salary for top level coaches than that just shows you that JW & the Board are not all in on joining the arms race. Honestly, I can't say that I blame them as Rutgers & UConn's financials look like a disaster and public tax dollars for mediocre performance don't fly in the NE, It will look even worse if SU - a private institution - doubles JAB's replacement coupled with SU's tuition. Do the same for Football and in were the "red" pretty quickly.

5 of Buttgers‘ 9 losses are by three points or less. I don’t ever remember Rutgers having a year as remotely good as this
