He had a bad game. And we really need him to be the player that he can be.It's like a light switch has been turned off since the exhibition games ended.
Can’t take much out of games against non D1 teams. It's like a light switch has been turned off since the exhibition games ended.
His shots aren’t falling and he’s still finding his way in the offense but overall I think he’s been solid. The other parts of his game look better than I expected
Yep, there's a reason he didn't pan out at Nova and it's more than the "bad fit" excuseHe's not as good as fans on this board think/want him to be.
Overreaction after 3 games.Yep, there's a reason he didn't pan out at Nova and it's more than the "bad fit" excuse
It’s gonna take him a little time to adjust to being one of the key guys. It happened to Michael Gbinije at the beginning of his junior year. JB called him out in early December after he got off to a slow start that season and said we expected more out of him—and he responded by stepping up and eventually had a very good junior season.Overreaction after 3 games.
Hard to get in the flow when you’re in foul trouble.
I mean another hot take. If you can make definitive statements about Swider after 3 games then I can most certainly say Quincy has no chance in hell to be an all American the way he’s playing this year after 3 games. It’s still early but it always seemed like a stretch or wishful thinking that the guy who averaged 5 pts and 2 rebs in 19 minutes as a junior at Villanova was an upgrade over the guy who was all ACC and who JB said had potential to be an All-American.

The Quincy of the last 10 games last year/3 this year and the Swider of the first 3 games this year are basically the same player. When we played our best ball last year he did not exactly play that well and I wish him well at Oregon. You very well could be right that Quincy probably won’t be an AA this year. Quincy was all ACC last year though and has been a better player than Swider throughout their careers.
And it’s not really a statement based on just 3 games for Swider. He played for 3 years at a great program who knows how to coach offense and develop their wings. We have a sample size to look at and it suggests that it would take a fairly big leap for him to end up being all ACC this year.
Swider has 19 boards in 89 minutes this year - along with 9 steals and a block. In 81 minutes QG has 22 boards, 2 steals and 2 blocks. You very well could be right that Quincy probably won’t be an AA this year. Swider is shooting a better percentage from the FT line and 2PT land than QG. Quincy right now is better from deep, but who knows how long that will be the case.
Oregon just lost to BYU by 30 and QG had 8pts, 4rbs and was 3/9 from the field.
Let’s let both players get comfortable in their new environments. It’s not like QG is playing like a first team anything right now either
Guerrier hasn’t put up the numbers people are referencing since last January.Swider has 19 boards in 89 minutes this year - along with 9 steals and a block. In 81 minutes QG has 22 boards, 2 steals and 2 blocks.

I hope this is accurate. He’s definitely got the skills. Needs a little selfishness, as does Benny. They don’t all need to defer. It’s gonna take him a little time to adjust to being one of the key guys. It happened to Michael Gbinije at the beginning of his junior year. He just never got in sync yesterday, and foul trouble was just part of it. If you've ever played organized ball, you know the feeling. Over the course of the season he's going to be a critical part of our team.Foul trouble.
Exacy. Quincy and Swider are both adjusting to new teams and new situations.I mean another hot take. If you can make definitive statements about Swider after 3 games then I can most certainly say Quincy has no chance in hell to be an all American the way he’s playing this year after 3 games.
That makes it seem like a shot at Nova, which it wasn’t. It was basically that at Nova they wanted him to be a spot up shooter and only that. They rarely asked him to handle the ball or create on his own.Does anyone here remember Coach saying that whet he leavened at Nova never prepared him for what we do here?
