I can understand Strong saying no to Tennessee to stay at Louisville, but when the Gators are housed by the Seminoles this week and finish 4-8 I can't see Muschamp surviving. I don't care that they lost Driskel, Easley, and their other injuries 4-8 at Florida is unacceptable. Considering he would be 0-3 against Georgia, and FSU is rising while the Gators have been mediocre 2 out of 3 years for Muschamp and Ron Zook was run out after 3 years. I think Florida will offer the job to Charlie Strong and how can he say no to the Gators when Florida is a top 5 college job. If Florida didn't go after Charlie Strong and kept Muschamp I would be surpised, but I can't see any other candidates for that job.

muschamp is the ultimate meathead. he should wear tassels on his arms, paint on his face, and give crazed interviews to gene okerland

Can't see Strong saying no to UF. I'd be shocked if Jurich doesn't have a successor lined up. I like TGD but he's not in Jurich's league.

Muschamp is reportedly making $2.9 Mil/yr. Strong's contract pays him $3.75 Mil/yr ($4.4 incl. ncentives/bonuses). Plus, he will owe a $5 million buyout if he leaves in 2013, $4.375 million in 2014, $3.75 million in 2015.
Do the math.

Muschamp was 11-2 last year.

Strong will say no to Florida. He can't get more at Florida than he's getting now and once in the ACC he can also get to a National Championship. The SEC is brutal.

florida's decisions make no sense to me. every time they lose an great offensive head coach, they go out and hire a meathead who disrupts all their success.

they should just hire someone from the urban meyer offensive tree. they're going to recruit no matter what, muschamp belongs someplace where people don't mind recruiters who don't know what they're doing. maybe mullen gets his shot. who cares if someone's bad at mississippi state.

of course, there is this

Year 1 7-6 lost to UGA, and FSU
Year 2 11-2 lost UGA and beat FSU
Year 3 4-7 lost UGA and Georgia Southern and have a game against #2 FSU

22-15 with 1 game left

Ron Zook from 2002-2004 went 23-15. Zook went 2-1 against UGA, and 1-2 against FSU. I think Muschamp is toast unless Florida is competitive with FSU.

maybe mullen gets his shot.

UCONN is going after Mullen.

I think there is a good chance that Strong stays at UofL because of loyalty.

When he was hired, there was a sense that Strong had to wait to get a HC shot because of race and I think he appreciates what UofL did.

That's a perfect fit for Strong. There's zero chance he says no.

Now, the dominos are gonna be fun. I said about a month ago here that I wouldn't be shocked if the new UL coach is...Shiano!

If Florida offered Strong, he would go in a minute. Florida is one of the best jobs in the country in the middle of the best recruiting area with tremendous fan support in the top conference. And, the SEC East is not that difficult and Florida can win the East almost every year:

Florida, Missouri, South Carolina, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Kentucky

Louisville has done a great job of upgrading their football program, but it is not comparable to Florida.

Addazio to Florida works. He can #BeADude in Gainesville

I could see Strong staying since Jurich gives his coaches the resources to win, and let's face it, it's an easier road to the playoffs in the ACC than SEC.

Jesus christ why does our AD have an infatuation with meathead defensive coordinators. SCHIANO. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-football/news/20131125/florida-jeremy-foley-will-muschamp/#ixzz2lgGWTyLi…

"It's worth remembering that when Meyer stepped down in 2009 for health reasons before later returning, Foley coveted Greg Schiano more than any other coach. Both Muschamp and Schiano appear safe despite rocky seasons."

unreal! how can you think "well, urban meyer was ok sure, but we need our offense to come exclusively from blocked punts

Bill King, the Sirius Radio Guy, said his sources told him Muschamp is safe this year. Is he really safe or Pasqualoni safe?

If the road to the playoffs is easier through the ACC, if the money is greater in Louisville, if you already recruit FL pretty well? I think it's a lot harder of a decision than you're making it out to be.

I thought I heard he was a firm stay at florida....everything is total speculation at this point.

Coach P safe. If FSU wins 55-10 this week, no way he returns.

If they get boatraced like P did against GT this week, he's Pasqualoni safe. There might be five guys in the country that wouldn't take that job.

From what I've heard, Strong is still pretty bitter about being passed up before by Florida...he will remain loyal to Louisville and I'll be shocked if he doesn't. Louisville has the bucks to keep him as well and his current salary shows that.

Does anyone remember the September rumors of Strong/Teddy to Jacksonville? I think there's a good shot that happens.
