When was the last team that was this bad?

The 16-13 team lost games they shouldn't have.
But they beat G-town and Purdue.
And gave a 26-2 DePaul team all they could handle.
They had some talent: Rautins, Santifer, Bruin,Waldron, Kerins.

This year's team is the worst SU team in the Boeheim era...BY FAR.
They had BC by 10 with 2 minutes to play in the opening game of the BET and lost at the buzzer when BC went on a 12-0 tear. That night several of the players went out partying, adding insult to injury.

Fear not, I'm sure the BPI moved us up to like 12th in the country after tonight's loss.

Dang, so bummed! I was really looking forward to that potential meeting with UK in the dance this year so we could really show them who's the boss.

Most embarrassing display of ball in the Boeheim era. The guard play on this team is pathetic. The defensive effort was pathetic.

Virtually any shot St. Johns took, they were open. Virtually any shot they were open, they made. Virtually any loose ball, they got. Virtually any turnover they got, they converted. When they stole, they scored; when we stole, we fouled. But what hurt most of all . . . virtually any Orange shot that was on the iron didn't go in. The Red Storm's best defender was the Syracuse basket! I've never seen so many klutzy dribbles or so many fumbled passes, catches, or bunnies.

Basically, I'm in terminal shock. I've gone from "When will they learn?" to "Can they ever learn?" I hate myself for bailing on a program I've loved watching since Bouie was a freshman, but I didn't see anything tonight that reminded me of Syracuse basketball. Somebody, please wake me up from this nightmare!-VBOF

The team two years ago looked pretty hopeless at times, though they rebounded to beat a handful of good teams.

It's been awhile since we saw an SU team quit like tonight. 2011 Seton Hall and Cincinnati McNamara's senior year come to mind. This group looks like they could use a break; hopefully they're getting to go home for Christmas.

Yeahbut . . . after they absolutely thrashed Western Michigan just two days ago? Is WMU that much worse than St. Johns? I'm getting the impression this year's team is extremely fragile, which is not a good feeling with the ACC schedule looming.

WM is trash and we played against a defense we practice against every day.

26 years old, can't remember last time it was this hard to watch

Let's be honest. SU basketball has been hard to watch for two or three years now. Our offense has been awful, but the zone has been outstanding. But we have turned into Pittsburgh, scoring 60 points a game with a grade school offense.

Oh... I've been honest. Much more so than most people on this board. The good defense since 2013 helped mask some problems because we could still pull out games due to that defense. The FF run last year also masked the obvious issues we have had.

We are absolutely terrible on the offensive side of the ball, and have been. It's that bad.

This year we finally have multiple guys capable of making a shot and our offense still stinks.
