Where are all the torch bearing, fire Joe Adam people this week?

Just because we gauged a top 5 run defense for 250 yards? Did we forget that this guy can't coach?
not sure you you gauge clemson as a top 5 run defense this year. it was a very good rushing day for us but you're overreaching

Do you know of any other D-1 program that has its O Line coach responsible for only guards and centers?
If your coach is capable, do you expand or contract his responsibilities?

Adam shows how hamstringed Shafer is with his coaching budget.

For all the things that have gone wrong this year, line play hasn't been that bad:

#6 in sacks allowed in the ACC
#8 in rushing offense

I'd argue that it should be better given the experience there, but the line has been better than last year.

Might be the best response.

I tend to agree with one caveat...experience doesn't trump lack of talent. I honestly believe that 2015 OL group (all but Conway are RS) is far more talented than the current starters.

Edit: And BTW, I'm not suggesting that Adam is the answer. I'm not at practice and have no idea if he is a good OL coach or not.

Agreed, across the board.

Syracuse Football: Irrationally believing that the next set of recruits is much better than the last for 15 years.

;)

I kid, I kid.

They can't be any worse!

All kidding aside, as you know I was concerned about this group of OL all offseason.

Not necessarily... maybe he wanted to keep everything in the family.

If that choice, and that to promote Lester, were strictly due to budgetary reasons then TGD also shares in that responsibility (some would call it blame).

That, of course, it what we don't really know.

Glad to see we got our fire Coach Adams quote in this week, nice work!

Beats the alternative ;).

If it's my alternative, which is not buying into any recruiting hype one way or the other, and just waiting to see how things play out on the field... then no, it's not better. :)

That works for you. The joyless model doesn't work for everyone.

I like that tons of people were like "who is this Dungey kid" and I watched his film based off a random tweet and saw the potential. Getting amped about potential is the same reason I watch the NFL and NBA drafts. It's fun.

It's far from joyless. Look, I've made my feelings about recruiting abundantly clear on this site and I know I'm in the minority. I find the breathless attention that people pay to the whims of 18 year old boys to be weird. Again, I know most disagree.

I thoroughly enjoy watching kids develop over their careers, and I certainly have been psyched to see Dungey arrive from nowhere to be a viable true frosh starter. I just learned my lesson years ago about situations where people adamantly proclaim things like "We've never been deeper at QB" and then proceed to argue their perception to the death. People tend to overrate young talent and then get furious when things don't pan out. It's not my cup of tea.

I get plenty of "joy" from many other aspects of sports. Recruiting hype is not one of them.
