Where was MCW?**

He is really going to have to work on his ball handling, he always looks so sloppy when he's in the game. It will come with experience hopefully.

MCW and Triche are going to have to get a few mins in the 1st half and then get comfortable in their warm ups for the last 15 mins of the game. Its alllll Scoop and Dion for the rest of the year, as far as meaningful minutes goes.

He and JB had a shouting match. WAER reported it during a timeout and then they were still going at after the timeout. JB got on him for not getting out on shooters and he and JB were barking back and forth. Not good.

Boeheim seems less confident putting Triche in, late in close games lately. I assume it's due to Scoop and Dion being able to create their own/shots for others. But I feel like he barely even played in the second half.

Blown out of proportion. You could see Boeheim coaching him on the bench and pointing out his mistakes with how Triche, Scoop & Dion play at the top.

But - but - but - he - he - he's just so ready to be our point guard next year ! He - he- had such a good game against St John's high school.

/sarcasm

MCW didn't get back on D on at least one possession in the first half where he was sort of loping back and the pass went past him for an open UConn jumper. JB exploded off the bench and got in his face. It is the kind of lesson that a 4th guard in the rotation learns by sitting when he commits the infraction. Can't have lack of hustle from a guy who is deep bench no matter how highly rated he may be.

I don't think it has anything to do with confidence. I think he feels Scoop and Dion are his best end-of-game guards. We exploded late in the game with them on the court.

39 pts. 6 rebounds 10 assists 15/19 shooting 5/6 from behind the arc for the cousins

JB knows what he's doing

To me, a more ominous thing was Triche's lack of emotion on the bench when the guards made a big play. The rest of the bench goes nuts and Brandon barely clapped much less got to his feet. He rarely shows much emotion but even Mookie was a cheerleader for his teammates

I hate to read anything into what you see on the court in terms of the player reactions. Without knowing their personalities and individual personal circumstances its like having an online conversation without having voice inflection and other visual cues to help you interpret what is said. Eagles fans used to kill McNabb when the Eagles were down or losing because he always had a smile on his face....but it's just his nature it doesn't mean he's happy they're losing or not in the right frame of mind to try to lead a comeback.

Triche moping was and MCW lack of hustle today were my only concerns -- but lets celebrate the win please

Even when Triche is happy, he mopes. Nothing to worry about.
I didn't observe his demeanor on the bench, but I would agree that generally speaking, he isn't the type to wear his emotions on his sleeve, so to speak.

MCW better get his head screwed on straight or he can get more pine time.

Yep. Keep seeing flashes. Next year he'll be running he point from the start.

Based on what??? It's nice to be a casual fan, and think he will be fine, and we will contend for an NC again next year. But aside for taking advantage of a demoralized St John's glorified high school team, MCW really hasn't done squat.

OBVIOUSLY, JB doesn't trust his game against quality competition. MCW has had the better part of a year to show us something, and he hasn't shown us anything.

If Dion leaves, next year we are in serious trouble at PG - gruesomely weak. Triche is not a PG.

Compunding the problem is that we have no PG coming in next year, and none worth while is available.

We better hope a JUCO PG is available who has a solid handle and can play D. Or else we will not contend for an NC. Period.

You have no clue what you are looking at. JB doesn't trust his game, because he doesn't have to. It is not out of the ordinary for guys that JB won't give run in the rotation one year to make huge contributions the following year. MCW will do this next year.

gawd I love threads like this after a game we won going away, in which our two guards played exceptionally the entire 2nd half
