I missed a great deal of the Wake Forest game because of work, but was able to catch the 4th quarter and I've seen some highlights from the game.

The QB he reminds me of the most is Tony Romo. Not in complete skill set. But mostly in the pocket awareness, escabality. Even when he rolls away from a defender it looks almost identical to the way Romo would pull it off. Has anybody else noticed it?

i think he's better than Matt Simms right now

Agree that it's too early to tell. But I'm going to play anyway.

very much like a young Colin K from the 49r's

I see an ability to extend plays with his athleticism, and, really good arm strength. We've been told he's really intelligent and can pick things up quickly, I hope that this is where he continues to improve the most.

I think when ED bulks up, he's going to be really, really good.

I can see the Aaron Rodgers comparison. I think that's the mold he fits. The production? Time will tell.

Lots of squats. His upper body seems ok. Just need to increase lower body strength.

Considering his vert is already pretty impressive, I'd say his lower body is very strong for freshman. I think he'll fill out as he ages. I actually have concerns he may get too big, as he has the frame to do so. He weighs 205 right now - he's not Paulus back there.

I don't like making comparisons, remember, he's played 7 quarters here. Remember Hunt's first two games?

That being said, there are some things in his game that remind me of Jake Plummer. He's not nearly as fast as a Kapernick and doesn't have the gun he has either. But his release is quick, arm is certainly not a detractor, and he's relatively elusive. I think his most impressive attribute thus far is inability to get rattled. He's calm and right now the game doesn't seem to fast for him. That cannot be taught.

I see him as a mix of Joe Montana/Dan Marino/Tom Brady/Aaron Rodgers/Brett Favre/Peyton Manning, with a little bit of John Elway mixed in as well. There's definitely a little Jesus in his game, too, and a flash or two of Zeus and Hercules.

More mobile than Romo. Put me in the Tannehill camp - at least from a potential perspective.

You posted almost exactly what I was going to post. lol.

I don't think people were trying to compare Hunt to NFL QBs even at that stage. Cut us some slack, for the first time in forever, we have a quarterback who seems to have the intangibles of touch and accuracy - particularly when throwing downfield - combined with decent mobility. We're allowed to drool over this and make unrealistic NFL comparisons for a little bit.

For the first time in forever, at least we've got a chance.

help us now...

For the first time in forever
There'll be magic, there'll be fun!
And I know it is totally crazy
To dream I'd find romance...
But for the first time in forever
At least I've got a chance!
