Which recruit was paid the most? What program is the dirtiest?

Good find, and that's how it happened.
JB was so close on so many guys. SU may have cheated, but we never CHEATED!
How close? Read this

Come on this is a lay up. Nobody ever came close to Tark and UNLV.

How do you quantify this? Whose a bigger crook, Lucky Luciano or Pablo Escobar? Corruption in basket ball goes further back than tall bus boys on college BB scholarships working summers at Kutchers fixing games played at night to entertain the guests. (The guests bet big money) As I recall theses guys perfected point shaving to the point they invented the term “ Front rim, back rim” to control the spread. A sure layup suddenly back rimmed or, well you get the idea. Incidentally Wilt Chamberlin spent a summer at Kutchers. No idea if he ever was involved in something improper. Point is, what is the point? Comment on Tark. The Tark MO included getting players jobs as doormen at the Casinos. Apparently, the amount of earnings from tips for UNLV players was astronomical.

Maybe if the Oneida YMCA payed two of our basketball players $1.666 each, then we could recruit better players.

$75k and a car

Wow, I never heard that story about Marcus Liberty and Syracuse. Very eye opening—he’s basically saying others got paid and told him where to go. I had no idea he almost went to Cuse. Pretty bitter to hear that now, especially considering we lost to the Illini in the Elite Eight and missed the Final Four against Illinois and Liberty.

Sad -- and sounds like Liberty recognizes that he made a mistake. He would have thrived with that versatility in our system.

At Illinois, he had to play down low b/c he played on that undersized team with Bardo, Gill, and Battle - I think he was the tallest player, even though he was only like 210.

Didn't we get blanked that recruiting class? I think we recruited Dennis Scott and Anthony Tucker, too, but ended up coming in second place for them , as well. This was 1988 -- the year after we had that blockbuster class of DC, Stevie, etc.

We did

I attached a La times article above about it.

Seems we were brides maids for a reason a lot back then
