White Made His Decision on Friday

I respect what Virginia has done the past three years, but I am not as high on them this upcoming season. Losing Brogdon, Gill, and Tobey will result in them taking a step backwards, imho.

All of their best returning players are either guards or wings - Perrantes, Hall, and Wilkins. Could surprise I suppose if Salt develops.

UNC will be good again. I think top three in the ACC comes down to Duke, UNC, and SU.

Cheers,
Neil
mostly agree with you on uva, but the transfer Nichols they bring in this year (from Memphis) will be a stud and they have a couple of really good freshmen - but yes, your point remains - they will not be as good as they were the last two seasons.

Thanks, forgot about him. Good scorer and shot-blocker.

Cheers,
Neil

If Syracuse isn't a top 10 team with all of this talent AND experience, I'd REALLY like to see what it takes to be in the top 10
You have to remember, many of the national media have already figured out where Syracuse will go, they probably won't even reconsider now that White is here. There are good ones that will do their homework, the rest will be lazy.

Thats what I don't understand, Duke, Kentucky, Unc Michigan st all lose players and reload, and they are given the benefit of the doubt, with us its like we lose a couple of guys and all of the sudden we are Miami, and theres no way we are going to reload. We don't get treated like we should.

They also believe, just like most casual college basketball fans, everything that ESPN and the major media throw at them. Syracuse doesn't leave NY, it is now fact to many. Syracuse are cheaters, beyond even UNC, now fact, despite the evidence. We got hammered for minor offenses while UNC gets to walk for major offenses, seems fair. It seems like every fan of every team has us pegged, and everything they spew is the narrative created by lazy journalists. There wouldn't be as many lazy journalists if there weren't even more lazy readers.

Understand the frustration, but MSU is a relatively recent addition to the list above. And unlike them and the other three blue bloods you mention, we simply haven't had one of those long, long streaks of Elite 8 or better quality teams.

Duke had a run of 10 out 15 years from 1988 through 2004.
UNC had a run of 12 out of 20 years from 1981 through 2000.
MSU now has a run of 9 out of 18 years from 1999 through 2016.

Our Orange hasn't had that type of run yet. Prior to AO's injury in the Big East tourney back in 2010, I truly thought the Orange were poised for a long sustained run like the above with this decade. But it wasn't meant to be just yet. We'll get there. We are on the cusp of such a run. I feel it in my bones.

Cheers,
Neil
