I have been away from the boards for a long, long time. But the lack of Whiz Bang being touted by the now retired Opera Man has me both excited and concerned for this season's team.

We know the guys who are expected to perform well. I am most excited for the emergence of young players who have the opportunity to step up, and should Opera Man return, be labeled as the next "whiz bang" at their position. If we could get Slater66 back to share with us his rituals of narcotic abuse and weight lifting prowess and bring back Stan to talk down to everyone, and combine it with a top 20 team, it would be the crowning achievement of this board and the highlight of my life.

This burg isn't ready for the amount of winning you're about to see.

If you have no clue what Joe is talking about then you missed some of the best low points this or any board has ever seen. Days of utter football ineptitude, of corners being turned, of "It's Friday, what have we learned", of multiplicity, of dream jobs being spurned and of little trains that could. If you are still here after all that Syracuse football has done to you, you deserve this upcoming season! Enjoy!

This thread made me a bit sad remembering some of the cherished board members we've lost over the years.

I miss Cali... would love to have another hours long thread with him about Jahwar Jordan being the exact player we both hoped Steve Rene or Dom Timbers would be. You're gone but not forgotten good buddy and I know you'll be watching from above with Orangeyes and others

Ditto man. Ditto.

I prefer to remember the golden age of 87 through 99
I didn’t realize the Troy nunes - Madei controversy was part of the golden age.

Would Perry’s grandmother be consider part of the Golden Age?

I’ll be glad if I never hear from old Pud again.

God bless Cali, BocaDoug, and especially my main man Orangeyes.

Anyone know if ACC channel will be available in Dubai for Stan.

I believe Valley Video carries that network. They air the video but the audio is a simulcast of Harry Graves and Whitey Milner on WCHN.
