Tired of All the Red Bashing...

Uh, no insiders required. He was quoted in the paper making that Ennis comparison. What was he supposed to say?
Sorry, I do not get the local paper. Should he compare Moore to Waiters and Freeman to DC preseason? How about "we look forward to Carlos bringing his defensive tenacity to SU as we look to get back to an uptempo offense?"

That's called coach speak. I admire your support without any evidence.

It’s not a tough question to answer at all, it’s easy. No one expected Bell to be this bad. No one.

I didn’t realize Lydon’s regression was anything other than accepted as reality. If you want to insist he didn’t, that’s fine. Pick literally any other player who regressed and my guess is he didn’t regress as much as Bell.
Tyler Lydon had a PER of 20 both years he was here. If I recall people wanted him to score more his sophomore year, but he was twice the player Bell was. You’re pulling sht outta your but in this thread.

You’re better than that.

Have good options. You hired the assistant coach spot with the dude’s head coach. Either you get him and it’s a done deal with no questions or you don’t make the hire. Red is clearly green when it comes to all aspects of in-game coaching. Needed more in that spot if you aren’t getting any players.

This really bugged me at the time.

Engelstad wasn’t hired to lure Leffew.

If he was actually a good recruiter, you would have expected him to retain his own former player. Especially at a position of need at a bigger name school.

Heck of a job, Brownie.

That’s just it. He can say whatever he wants. Who cares? Carlos was recruited to be a backup. We all knew that when he committed. If you believed any of Red’s hype, sorry, but that’s on you.

Georgia offered more money. Relationships had no bearing on the matter.

It’s all about the money. He got offered more and took it. It had nothing to do with his coach. Relationships are important, but the bottom line closes the deal.

I think if guys thought he was any good the former players like onuaku and Blackwell would've tried to come on here for a job. I think griffin sucks royally as an assistant coach.

Autry really had the boys ready to go today in their first ACC game versus a stellar Wake Forest club. If only JJ was playing, we would probably only be down 8 now, right?

Name another PG who was available after Leffew bailed.

(Richmond was never coming back.)
Here's one.

Available for a full MONTH after Leffew bailed. From Rochester. 6-4 guard. 15 pts., 6 rebs., 3 asts./gm. as a junior. First Team All-League (Carlos was not on any all-conference team). Now averaging 13.7, 5.6 & 3.6 on a 13-1 team.

But you trust NYC more than Upstate, and you go with a guy who has lesser stats, has no physical tools, and simply isn't good enough.

The team is currently 6-6. They have not beaten a Top 100 team, and has looked non-competitive in a couple of those games.

There are 19 games left plus at least one ACC Tournament game. Do you think the team that is currently being put out on the floor night after night will win 7 more games?

KenPom has our ACC record as 7-13. That means we finish 13-18. Our worst winning percentage as a program since 1968-69.

Year 2 should show improvement over Year 1. We have shown nothing to say we have improved in any sort of way.
Update: 6-7, No Top 100 wins. Down 19-3 to start this one.

This was one of the 7 wins according to KenPom.

No bueno.

0-7 against power conference teams. 6-0 against our peers at least.

Nothing brings me any hope with Red coaching this team. We could bring in Curry and he would have been on the bench the last 5 minutes. Roster management is beyond horrible. If that were better, maybe we could dive deeper into every other aspect of the team which are also horrible.

Aside from the horrible subbing in the 2nd half from Red. Forbes simply outcoached Red. We were once again exposed with simple ball screen action when Wake made their run. Forbes, then mixed that up in the last 4min of the game to provide a few options to expose matchups. This is something we never do.

JB was excellent at exposing matchups.

Chris Bell is giving us less than what Justin Taylor gave us last season. Mind numbingly bad.
And your point is what exactly? I said Bell has regressed more than any player anyone can name. Ever. It sounds like we’re on the same page.

Red usually makes a lot of sense during his press conferences, but he lost me when he said that he was happy with the shots we got. We took numerous contested three pointers and some really contested, long two pointers. Carlos and Cuffe as well as Davis are the offenders that immediately come to mind.

Fire him tonight. Imagine getting outcoached by Forbes.
Hildreth, Reid, and Johnson out for a huge stretch of the 2nd half and it wasn't an issue for Wake. Just terrible.

This sounds a little extreme but then you remember that Red started Justin Taylor for 14 games at PF over Maliq Brown last year. The same Justin Taylor getting 13mpg at JMU (no offense) this year. In fact it was only injury that forced Red to put Maliq into the starting lineup.
