who are the 5 dolts that voted for Kentucky

Probably 5 guys from the state of KY with Blue colored lenses.

Frank Schwab, Jason Franchuk, Jon Wilner, Rick Bozich, and Ron Morris

Frank Schwab - Colorado
Jason Franchuk - Utah
Jon Wilner - Pac 12 beat writer
Rich Bozich - Kentucky
Ron Morris - South Carolina

So obviously we have some writers out west that aren't well informed. Doesn't surprise me, as folks out here in these parts a) don't follow college hoops that closely and b) are generally biased against the east coast.

The one guy is a UK homer and the other guy is protecting the SEC.

I take all of those votes with a serious grain of salt.

Really? I can understand a voter putting us behind Kentucky, they just beat a decent Louisville team. Now, Morris, who has us 4th, is ridiculous, but i really see no fault in anyone putting us 2nd.

Same cats who said that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.

Why would Kentucky be ahead? Syracuse is better, period......

They beat #11 Kansas, #5 UNC, and #4 Louisville while we beat #9 Florida. We deserve to be #1 because we are undefeated, but the argument can be made. I also don't know how one can state "we are better, period". There is no way to measure that. (If your post was sarcasm, ignore)

It's been two years and perhaps I'm a little fuzzy, but wasn't Jon Wilner the writer who voted us #1 for a couple weeks before the Villanova weekend moved us to the top spot in 2010? And maybe again last January?

I agree that the two Southern writers are homers, though.

I don't necessarily have a problem with a vote for Kentucky. I wouldn't vote them #1, I'd vote us, but I don't think you have to be a "dolt" or a "hack" to have a ballot that doesn't have us #1.

Now putting us #4, seems like a bit of a stretch. But let's be real, for as impressive as we have been this year, the main reason the majority of the pollsters have us #1 is because of all the undefeated teams, we started the season ranked the highest. Nothing more, nothing less.

Before people jump on me for saying that, I'm not saying we don't deserve to be #1 or anything like that. But let's face facts. I would almost give some of those guys credit for not falling into the trap of just voting teams up that win and down that lose, but I'm sure some of those votes ARE homer votes, and it isn't like we are an undeserving #1.

At the end of the day, who cares? We want to be #1 the first week of April, not January.

If Boeheim is the one voting for Kentucky (and before that Ohio State) in the coaches poll, I think that's genius.

Do we even know if Boeheim has a vote this year?

Likely the same 4 that voted kentucky #1 last week and 1 of the 2 L'Ville votes. That would mean we got all 5 Ohio State votes from last week and the other L'Ville vote.

Yes. He's listed as one of the voters. There is one voter from each conference. He's the one from the Big East (and has been for several years).

Kentucky is probably the best collection of individual talent in the country. I don't blame anyone for voting them #1, even though they have a loss. They are a very very good team.

just think about this for a second...we are complaining about not getting enough first place votes(and rightly so)...this is how good this team is...who'da thought we'd be complaining about not getting enough first place votes and talking about whether we might just undefeated...

Clearly he's still mad about losing the War of Northern Aggression.
He is still pissed Mike Jones picked us over SCar. Oh wait, he ended up at SCar. Oh wait. Couldn't handle the "mike jones... who?" chants.
