The best way to judge a team IMO is looking at the talent on the team. While I would love to be 8-0 right now I believe 4-4 is pretty good considering the actual talent on this team right now.
My top 5 talented players on the roster.
1. Jay Bromley- I don't think this one can be debated. Bromley would start for pretty much every team in the nation and will get drafted next year and will play in the NFL.
2. Jerome Smith- I debated this one for a second, but Smith is clearly the most talented offensive player on the team, and has good speed to go with a powerful frame. Smith will get drafted in the mid to late rounds whenever he goes out and has a chance to be a Jerome Bettis type RB in the red zone for a team in the NFL.
3. Brandon Reddish- This may be high for some, but Reddish has talent and I believe has the ability to play at the NFL level. He may not be this high for some, but I think this kid has NFL CB potential and can play special teams and just needs to be coached well to get all his talent used.
4. Marquis Sprull- This kid has played LB tough for 4 years now, and has proven to me has more talent than I thought he had as a Fr./Soph. I don't know if he will stick in the NFL, but he is a talented college player.
5. Ashton Broyld- I like the jack of all trades game this kid has. He can be a slot receiver, run jet sweeps, and throw passes occasionally and has talent. I think he is only playmaker we got on offense besides Smith. Broyld still has 2 years and can improve. Sales had talent and it took till the bowl game his 3rd year for it flourish.
others considered: Jon Raymon(pre-injury), Prince-Tyson Gulley, Wayne Morgan, Dyshawn Davis.
The fact these are my top 5 talented players just shows how we need to just have realistic expectations when following this football team. Getting 6 wins with this roster would be a good job and I think if we can beat the Turtles this Saturday it would be very possible.
