Need to get my 3 sons some minutes, that's why. :). Jk. I used to like the cupcakes in the beginning of the season but as our team has gone from a consistent top 25 team to a elite top 10 to top 5 team these games are starting to get boring and really not helping our bigs. If you're going to schedule a high point or a cornell, let's do it the first couple of games of the season, not the end of the ooc schedule.

I think the bigs will get more out of playing them now than earlier. They've had the chance to work on some things they need to do in practice they can bring to the floor.

Short Scouting report version

High Point Panthers
BigSouth Conference (same conference as UNC Asheville)

Returned all 5 starters from last years team. Favorites to win their division in their conference. Lastyear they won their half of the conference and then got beat by UC Irvine in the quarters of their conference tourney.

Their big 2 players are John Brown who is a 6'8" forward who averages 19.4 ppg and 8.8 rpg and Allan Chaney who is 6'9 and is a Va Tech transfer (and former top 100 recruit) who averages 15.4 ppg and 8.6 rpg.

These are 2 pretty good bigs who will give our bigs a nice test but other than that they dont have much. They have played Georgetown who wiped the floor with them.

On paper they are the best team in their conference so it will not be a cakewalk game like say a Colgate.

You mean High Times U?

We are playing them because its Cooney Night. His last game of the season before he rides the pine during ACC play because hes too much of a defensive liability and can not compete against athletic guards. There will be a ceremony at half time awarding him a plaque for his great play against un-athletic cupcakes like Baylor, Indiana, California, and Minnesota.

Don't worry, we will see him in Midnight Madness again next year

I assume this is a joke, but either way, the bar business has not treated you well, Mr. Garrett. I know you're the best damn cooler in the biz, but maybe you've been in one too many bar brawls.

Their head coach, Scott Cherry, is from Ballston Spa/Saratoga. He probably just wants to come home for Xmas and get some of that Carrier Dome guarantee money.
holy crap, that makes sense then.

he wasnt even that good in HS. when he went to unc everyone did a collective....wait, what???

To this day I'm still trying to figure out how he ended up at UNC. It seems like he should have been a walkon but as far as I know he was a full fledged scholarship player for four seasons.

Hang on. High Point, from NC, played UC Irvine, from California, in their conference tournament?
