who to root for UL-NC st

NC st comes out solid moves the ball then gets cute and fumbles without a hit by the D..

Would like to see more of that by the teams we play.. NC st made those mistakes last week we just dropped every one or they fumbled out OB

I'm rooting for NCST and for Chubb to get tossed for being a dbag... Or at least lit up.

NC State doesn't turn it over against us (should have but Butler decided to tackle someone away from the play), but in this game, they just set the ball on the ground. And everyone looked clueless trying to fall on a football. Go figure.

NC State also just played as prevent as you can ever play. 4 guys across the goal line. Really not concerned about giving up 3.

Hope Ward is taking notes. While we don’t have the DL that NC State has - our secondary is as good (I never thought I’d have said that earlier this year). Louisville’s OL is marginal at best.

Also, Louisville’s D likes to play with a lead. They are not as solid there as last year and lost their DC.

good for them but in the end the entire league is cannon fodder for Clemson

Watching this game gives me hope we have a chance to beat Louisville. And did they just mention Tampa-2?

We held NC St to 108 total yards in the 2nd half. UL allowed them 195 yards in the 2nd half. I realize the transitive property doesn't work in football, but it implies that right now we can line up against UL and FSU and be expected to play a competitive game. Maybe we're better than we think we are.

Agreed...when LSU lost to Troy, the shine from that almost-result went out the window.

I think this shows that NC St. is a good team and we were able to play with them.

Bodes well...

NC State is the first team to win after playing Syracuse this season

NC state maxed out the pts against us.. They left probably 20 pts on the table last night. UL Pretty much maxed out the pts last night.. We left 10-15 on the table last week..

The difference in this game being a blow out and a close game late is that Jackson can make plays with his feet and did so several times last night.. NC state should have had 10+ sacks if that was any other QB back there.

UL still has some scary speed on the outside but we should score on them if those DBs continue to play like that.

Our defense may have much more trouble containing Lamar. Really need our linebackers to play over their heads.

Syracuse running vs NC st.

qb 16 for 44 2.8
rb 14 for 15 1.0
passing 385

UL running vs state

QB 19 for 73 3.8
rb 10 for 44 4.4
passing 354

Su allowed 33 and 452
UL allowed 39 and 520

you contain Jacksons wilds runs and we can win that game, that being said we allowed way too many big plays last year and easy TDs.

Both Louisville and FSU have entered the winnable zone ... unlikely, but way better odds than before the season.

Quietly, Clemson has come down a notch too. But their D is so nasty...

3rd quarter especially, I think they had less than 30 yards.

We'll find out a lot about ourselves this weekend. Pitt's back is against the wall too.

As for Louisville, it's still a lifetime before we play them. Who knows will be available on both sides by then. But I do know that Jackson's passing last year just kept getting worse in the last few games of the season. He was still running the ball, but I think the beating started to take a toll on him. Hoping for the same this year. Need any help we can get.

Yeah, but that was the case across the board last year. We’ve gotten better on D vs explosive plays, but Jackson is a different beast for sure

FPI has 2 wins left with wake 40%

FSU really depends on how it plays the next 3 weeks.. Miami/UL beating them would be nice but Duke in the middle at Duke would not surprise me if they lose this week..

Like that they have to go to BC before we play them too and they have Clemson after us..

If they just lose to the ranked teams they finish 5-6 at best..

I think Miami is going to put a beatdown on FSU this weekend.

I'm also wrong 99% of the time, but FSU looks lost, Miami won't feel sympathy. They've jumped out to leads in the game the past few years, only to see FSU comeback. Based on the injures, this FSU team isn't equipped for a comeback.

Some of FSU's stats are eye-popping. They've played a bunch of good teams and Wake, so grain of salt. But this one is nuts:

3rd Down Conversion %
FSU 28.57%, #126 nationally, #14 in the ACC
