Who's youre starting 5 most hated opposing players?

Patrick Ewing
Michael Graham
Carl Krauser
Charles Smith
Thugbeet

Definitely Thabeet. I'd add Scotty Reynolds too and the guy from Butler who did the takedown on KrisJo.

Matt Howard right? Forgot about him, went with Jennings because he almost decapitated Ongenaet.

1. Michael Graham, Patrick Ewing, David Wingate & the rest of the Georgetown thugs from the 80's
2. Jerome Lane
3. Walter Berry
4. Khalid El Emin & Earl Kelly - UCONN
5. Keith Smart

Sorrentine from the parking lot!!!! Bang!!!
Krauser
Rashad Anderson
Troy Murphy
Aaron Gray

So many good names to hate in this group.

I'll chip in with Kevin Braswell. His smirk made my blood boil instantly.

1. Walter Berry
2. Chris Mullin
3. Patrick Ewing
4. Michael Graham
5. Twinkie El Ahmin

Wow, I cannot believe Donatas Zavackas from Pitt has not made a roster. He was often referred to as the "foreign dude" when we played them.

The answer is very easy.

1. Ewing
1a. Ewing
2. Smart
2a. Michael Graham (how the hell was he ejected, and then not ejected?) what a different game it was. He literally punched Andre Hawkins in the face and was kept in the game.
3. Berry
4. Ray Allen
5. The blind guy from Rhode Island/David Robinson/Michael Edwards

Honestly, I'm glad you're a fan but none of those dudes you listed are remotely relevant to Syracuse basketball. The c***suckers I listed are the vile enemies of our program. Honorable mention to Coppenworth and Sorrentine.

On a side note, this nostalgia reminded me of Pearl punching Ewing in the face in the Garden. Fckn classic. Kids today will never understand what college hoops, esp the Big East, used to be. You got smacked in the jaw back then. Nobody was AAU boys. Golden age of college hoops, Ewing, Pearl, Mullin, Worthy, Jordan... fckn incredible. Now its like high school ball. Most hated player Luke Harangody? Who? Jesus.

Tony Delk

Keith Smart

Mo Peterson

T.J. Sorrestine

Gordon Hayward

pretty obvious reasons for each I think...

Oh, and Chevy Troutman because he was lights out agianst us. His career FG% vs. SU had to be 80+

I'm going to go with players who have ruined my trips to the Dome.

Mike Marra
Scottie Reynolds
Jeremy Hazell/Jordan Theodore/every one of those SHU players that had career nights that night
Austin Freeman
Earl Clark/Terrence Williams

Interesting - you can almost tell the age of the posters by the names in the response.

I do not believe any of us oldy but goody guys could exclude Ewing, Graham, and Smart w JT as the Coach.

The other two slots would be up for grabs, and I really don't have any strong opinions. Maybe, Donyell Marshall for one because he was all set to come here and his switch to UConn accelerated the rise of their program and the (relative) demise of ours during those post (other) scandal days. For a fifth.....maybe Charles Smith (so I can cover two players with one name).

How the hell does Hasheem Thabeet make an all-time Top 5 Syracuse most hated opponents list? I'm a UConn fan so I'm biased about all our players, but I can obviously see how someone wouldn't like a Khalid El-Amin type player, but what's your guys beef with Thabeet? (Serious question, not trying to start anything).

Ewing - GTown
Graham - GTown
Krauser - Pitt
Dudley - BC
Page - G'Town
Head Coach - John Thompson
Asst Coach - Bernie Fine

First, any specific mention of Georgetown players in the early '80s must include Ed Spriggs right alongside Graham. It's not every day that you see a 27-year-old former mailman from D.C. recruited to play high-level basketball as an enforcer. He was at the very pinnacle of Georgetown's thug list.

Second, I think Pearl punched Ewing in the junk, not the face.

It was right in front of me, he punched him in the stomach.

Semi-talented enforcer type who dominated our bigs, whined to the officials at every chance, and snuck in a ton of cheap shots.

Appreciate the vitriol you have for these guys but I was born in 84 and my earliest Cuse hoops memory is 95 (Moten Timeout vs Arkansas) and vaguely John Wallace before that. I hated Ewing as a Knick not a Hoya until I found out later he was a Hoya of course. Maybe next time I'll write a dissertation but this was just a 5 second post brother. Relevant is a relative term, to each their own.
