Why do we take so few three pointers?

judah's shooting was a bit of an outlier stat for the season. but true.
Judah hasn't taken many 3s this season. Just 51 before last night's game.

If anything, he should have been taking 2+ more a game. I bet his shooting % would have improved weeks ago had he done that.

The whole team should be taking more 3s.

The freshman are still timid when it comes to shooting 3's. Taylor is the worst at this even though he can shoot the ball. He has passed up more wide open three's than anyone on the team. I still think he will be a great player for us, I just think the game hasn't slowed down enough for him yet. Probably a lack of consistent playing time. Bell is slightly better because he has been given more of a run, but he still forces things up from time to time. Benny is in year two, shows a slight improvement but is slow for athletic as he is. Bottom line is we have some good kids playing for us, but they are not year one superstars. If they were all to come back, next year should be better, but will they all come back.

The bottom line here is that it is, DUH, harder to get an open three look against a man D than it is against our lousy Zone. So, it is no secret why our opponents take a lot of threes.

Also, most opponents have three or four good three point shooters on the floor at any one time, so if ANYBODY gets open a three shot is forthcoming.

Whereas, we rarely have more than two three point shooters on the floor at any one time.

If Judah's recent streak is for real then maybe we get to three, but regardless, that is too little too late.

Lastly, there is the ball movement issue. Duke and Clemson kept the ball in motion - three, four, five passes - whatever it took. We are a zero pass team. We go ISO w Judah or Joe and once in a blue moon there is a kick out.
