Why is Clemson so cocky?

Hi All,

I have a question on Clemson, I've been going through their board and some (looks like most) of their posters really think Clemson is one of the gods of football. They won the ACC last year but were crushed by WVU who we crushed on Thursday Oct 21st. What has Clemson done to deserve the self righteousness and their total lack of respect for anything Syracuse and some what for Pitt. I know we've just gone through the worst decade in Cuse history but still. I hope they stay in the ACC just so we can kick their arse again to the tune of 41-0. Remember that Clemson or do you have short memories?

I was at that Gator bowl. When McNabb started slicing & dicing Clemson up, the loud-mouth Clemson fans behind me just had to shut-up. Great game, but admit ably a long time ago!

First to secede in the Civil War...thinking Clemson is more than a middling program that will be resurrected by moving to the Big12...not a lot of rational thinking going on in that state historically.

I could see a good rivalry between Clemson and 'Cuse could start in football if they stick around. I think wisdom will come around on their board and they will still be in the ACC in the end. Clemson is a founding member of the ACC and I just don't see more W's in their future by going to the Big12. I honestly think they are better off in the ACC and that isn't just through my orange colored glasses.

The only thing bigtime about them is their fanbase on gameday...historically they are Rutgers with one lucky title and a few other bowl invites. Their sports across the board are mostly underachieving despite being located in a fertile recruiting area 2 hrs away from ATL and CLT.

When I hear the name I think big time football, but then I think again and can't really come up with anything they've really accomplished. I would imagine we even have as many players in the NFL - I can't think of many Clemson guys off the top of my head.

A lot of "southerners" are actually transplanted Northerners. When painting with a wide brush it is necessary to be very careful. While stationed in Louisiana, I met many stereoptypical southerners and I met many northerners taking the jobs only their knowledge and skills could occupy. Same here in Houtson and Florida when I lived there.

There are less third generation Texans or Floridians than transplants in the respective state. At least by my anecdotal observations.

Here is a prime example of what Clemson thinks of the 'Cuse. This person is complaining that the SOS will be even worse with Cuse added to their schedule. The assumption is that we suck so bad that they can never play for the MNC with us on their schedule.

I was simply being hyperbolic to make a point about how strongly I dislike cocky Clemson fans. The only people I was trying to offend was Clemson fans.
