not a summer olympic sport? They play worldwide. Always wondered.

Can't get enough countries to vote in favor of adding it, especially since it will come down to the Canada vs. US for the gold. It may be a while before it even comes to a vote because they're chopping sports (e.g., the wrestling debacle).

After reading the topic title I assumed what would follow in the post was "... not considered the greatest sport ever." Still, this is a very good question. I believe there was an exhibition at the '84 games. Hope it works out in 2024.
