Ok, Benny was sick.

So Brown, who many have been suspecting is better than Benny anyway should be next up right?

Nope. JBA basically plays the whole second half.

He hustled, he mostly played smart on offense(loved that kickout for a 3), he got some big rebounds….but ultimately - come on. We were basically playing 2 on 5 on offense in terms of scorers once Edwards fouled out.

Why was he in there over Brown? Anyone?

Many people are saying… that Brown may have an “owie”.

Him being injured is really the only legit excuse for why he wouldn’t be getting more minutes these past few games.

Or - JB gonna JB.
You know how Boeheim do.

Brown was injured vs Richmond?
See, I never know with these things. Was it ever reported he was injured, or is this where the board has to tell everybody these things?

I’ve only seen it mentioned on this board, but didn’t know if it was true. Anybody know what he injured? How bad? Why did he still get in the game if he’s injured? When will he be expected to be 100%?

I mean no one really knows but it’s the only explanation. We literally have a has grabbed 1 rebound in 100 min of basketball

You certainly won't get any info on this from the Syracuse "press"

I think it was a defensive miscue by Brown though I'm not sure JBA was ever in right spot either. He's all over the place.

Defensive miscue and not rebounding in traffic.

Never in my life would I have expected to see JBA play so many minutes.

JBA was doing things like sprinting into the paint to double team a guy that Edwards was already on, and leaving shooters wide open(thankfully they seemed to miss the entire second half).

He tries hard and sometimes the effort leads to good defense, but I thought he was way out of position a number of times.

Zero threat to score - though thankfully Bryant’s guys collapsed on him a few times which led to assists for JBA.

He did his best and helped in spots. And if he was our only option, I get it - he did as well as you can realistically expect.

Our sports media apparently has decided that reporting on injuries and illnesses is unseemly. They’re literally the only media I follow for one of my favorite teams that entirely defers to the coach when it comes to these things. It’s so weird.

Yeah he came in and got 2 quick rebounds and was done for the night due to injury?

Like he was well enough to give it a go but after that wasn't?

Maybe.

It's hilarious to me that JB is so committed to rolling with his crew in the second half that when Benny couldn't go JBA got plugged in and never came out.

Benny was so sick that he “couldn’t go”… then JB started him the second half. Our rotations make so little sense. It’s mind blowing.

I was actually stunned that Taylor made it into the game in the second half

It’s almost like Jim knows that Brown “gets it” and knows he can get 6/6/3 from him in 20 minutes whenever he needs. But also that every minute from Brown is taking away another developmental minute from Bell, Benny or Justin and he chooses the latter.

This does not make sense though and contradicts Jim’s you play to win the game mentality, so this can’t be it.

Every team needs a glue guy and that clearly can be Brown this season. Just don’t get it.
