- They are an SEC team. We are a Big East team. It’s a Heavyweight vs. a Middleweight.

- OK, they are 5-5. They’ve lost to Georgia, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Alabama and Florida.. Those teams are a combined 41-9. They lost 7-14 at Florida. How would we do at Florida?

- You know how our basketball team hasn’t lost a non-conference game since Cleveland State in 2008? The Tigers haven’t lost a non-conference home game since 2005. That’s 18 in a row.

- You know how SU played great on senior day before 40,000 fans, (yeah, right)? Missouri will be having senior day before 70,000 fans- who are really there.

- James Franklin has passed for 8 touchdowns and thrown 7 interceptions while rushing for 147 yards and no scores. But he’s been hurt. Last year he threw for 21 TDs, (11 interceptions) and ran for 981 yards and 15 TDs. He’s the healthiest he’s been all season so we have to assume that he’s going to be more like last year’s Franklin than this year’s Franklin.

- Mizzo has returned 5 kicks for touchdowns this year. Marcus Murphy has four of them, (3 punts and one kick-off) and Jimmie Hunt has the other. We have improved our kick coverage but we haven’t faced anybody like this since Venric Mark.

- Missouri is having a down year due to injuries and a difficult adjustment to the SEC but they are where we want to be and they got there the way we will have to do it- one step at a time. They stuck with Gary Pinkel as he went 37-35 in his first 6 years. He then went 12-2 and has had two more ten win seasons since. They’ve built up more talent than we have. Even when they have to replace a Sheldon Richardson, they can do it with a player who might be starting for us. Don’t let the records fool you. If we win this, it will be a big upset.

- Our defense has given up 498 yards and 32 points a game the last three weeks after giving up 291 and 15 in the three games before that. “That’s because they were going up against a pro-style offense before and now we are going against spread offenses.” We still are. While we were putting up 524/45 vs. Louisville they were putting up 454/51 vs. Tennessee. It’s going to be that kind of a game. In their place.

- Why can’t we do it on the road? The Stony Brook win was followed by the Minnesota debacle. The Pittsburgh win was followed by the Rutgers debacle. The Connecticut win was followed by a 20 point halftime deficit vs. South Florida and a loss to Cincinnati. We are 4-1, (168-108) in the Dome and 1-4 (115-153) on the road. This will be a different team than the one you saw against Louisville and it’s not a good difference.
