- Central Michigan has bene to three straight bowls- and lost all of them. Last year it was 10-55 to Tulsa. It was their 5th loss in their last 6 games. Then they opened this season with a home overtime win over Rhode Island, Like CCS a 2-9 FCS team. Imagine if we’d gone into OT vs. the Blue Devils?
- Oh, yeah, they beat Kansas, the worst team in the worst Power 5 conference. The Jayhawks have won 2 of their last 26 games.
- Corey Willis isn’t their only good receiver but he was their best. He had 72 catches for 1,091 yards and 9TDs last year. He was their Etta-Tawo. They also lost TE Tyler Conklin and wide-out Brandon Childress, so 3 of their 4 top receivers are out.
- And they are trying to run a spread offense for the first time. The injuries deprive them of proven receivers beyond Chapman and we’ve been running the spread for a year – and practicing against it on defense.
- The Chips are being chipped for 303 yards passing a game. (But who isn’t these days?) We should be able to up that stat a tad.
- The trend this year has been that teams that looked bad last week look goog this week: MTS looked bad vs. Vanderbilt, good vs. us. CMU looked bad vs. Rhode Island, good vs. Kansas. Our turn.
- We will catch the ball this time.
- We will find a way to run the ball, even if it’s from the “Grove” formation.
- We will complete passes over the middle and downfield.
- They won’t dare nail Dungey, precisely because a riot would break out.
- We aren’t going 3-0 vs. the directional but we aren’t going 1-2, either.
1-1 with 10+ to go!
LET’S GO ORANGE!!!
