I've never been a JB basher, but I've been seeing this for over 30 years. We build up an 8 point lead by moving the ball and playing fast. Then, as expected, we take the air out of the ball and get lazy on offense which can lead to laziness on defense. This strategy has probably worked about 95% over the years so give him some credit I guess. However, it just drives me nuts.

You answered your own question. It works. even tonight. We won.

You would be a favorite teacher, because you provide the answer in the statement, although I think 95% undersells the success. Year it is nerve racking.

They executed first half and were hot, hot, hot from the field. They cooled off, let up and didn’t execute second half. Doubt any coach told them to do that coming out after the half.

Wrong. Jb knew he needed to get Benny and Frank some run. He told the guys, lets lay back and play not 1 but 2 OT's. Everyone will have fun. JB is a real cutup that way.

No lead is going to be safe with this team. They are capable of playing atrocious defense.
You come from behind with your defense and you keep a lead with your offense and our offense was just terrible to start the 2ud half. Jacking up one bad 3 after another.

But even if you played up tempo it would probably work at a high % as well. I'm not a fan of the strategy nor do I hate it.

I don't mind the strategy as long as the other team is not aggressively pressing or trapping. If that is the case you need to take your shot when you beat them.
