Wildhack retires today

I think SU needs to define the job description in the House/NIL era before looking at names.

Because that’s how it happens with literally every c suite when you retire

Not saying it’s bad but the school won’t be letting him make unilateral decisions at this point and JW wouldn’t want to.
That doesn’t equate to 4 hrs weeks and burning his pto. I anticipate 100% participation and collaboration.

We sure Fran will survive all this transition? New ADs like to hire their guys absent some institutional success at the position.

No way a new AD will hitch his wagon to someone he has zero experience with. Clock is on Fran now to really succeed asap.

I would bet the same w Gait. Clock is running.
Gait’s seat is ice cold. Fran isn’t even warm.

JW is the AD we needed 20 or even 30 years ago. No one gives a damn about facilities now.

If we are equivalent to a 3 star hotel and the next school is 4 stars but we offer $50,000 more in NIL. Guess where he’s more than likely going.
Anyone who actually attends events st the Done, disagrees with you.

The game experience is vastly better post renovation.

Reggie Terry?

Nick Carparelli?

Lots of options here.
The UCONN AD, noted as a longshot, would be a solid choice. He has made good hires in football and hoops. Strong experience in the right part of the country.

Similar issues as well, albeit state vs private school. Their football independence has forced creative thinking, which I appreciate.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried even harder.

The biggest thief and worst AD in FBS Ryan Bamford LMAO the rest of the list is unserious for that name alone.
Lived on the same floor as Bam for 2 years in college. Great guy, but yeah...hes had a tough run 😂

And he'd bring Dan Hurley with him so it's a twofer for everyone!

You need to understand how that went down. If you think it was as clean as “I think Red is the right coach”, I can assure you this was not the case.

His hands were tied with Red. Were they also with Hop? Did he try to win that battle, but JB was too powerful? If JW pushed for it and lost then he should have little responsibility for this mess.

That to me is the bigger question. We had an out and let it slip away.

You really need 2 people in this era. You still need an old school athletics admin type. And then you need the fundraising type. Hard to find someone who fits both. It seemed that JW did well with the later but had issues with the former.

Agree. And that 2nd point about fundraising can be incredibly painful which I think we fall into or incredibly easy ie like St Johns having 1 Billionaire Repole bankrolling the whole hoops team and being best buds with Pitino, also not having to deal with other sports or football. Not alot of complexity there ha.
