Wildhack retiring July 1st

Jake said it couldn’t be done under the financial restraints imposed by Buzz. Jake catches a lot of flak here, undeservedly in my opinion.
Maybe so, (not questioning your statement), but I was told by someone in the AD that there was $10M in cash on hand when Jake retired. Bad overall management not to make improvements.

Any time you get the chance to hire a failed Pitt AD who presided over financial malfeasance, scandals, and was unceremoniously fired you totally gotta take it.

I'm not going to overreact until a hire is made, but if that's ultimately the choice then it's clear SU isn't serious about running a successful athletics department.
Academia, man... once you get to a certain level, you can just keep failing upwards.

Same thing happens in corporate America. I’ve witnessed it first hand.
Same here. I've literally never had a good experience working on any project with one particular colleague. But she keeps impressing the right people and moving on up. It's mind boggling.

We will be ok...

With all due respect to insiders and those closer to the university than me, I don’t believe things with Cuse athletics until I see them these days. Thats on the school, not anyone here.
Agree. That’s the first thing i said when i saw army resigned him. The more people say it’s not Lyke the more I bet it will. Syracuse is not a serious p4 program. Everyone better brace themselves to be disappointed the next few months.

When I see people on the search committee like Tirico and Lally, I feel comfortable that they know what is needed for the primary sports and an AD to do it. I don't think we should be panicking unless there is pressure being exerted from other areas?

I really hope Lyke isn’t the hire with how bad her tenure at Pitt was (and the trouble she’s in now). There are also just way better options.
