Will Malachi Stay? Talk me off the ledge please...

Well since the NBA draft is all about potential and not so much if a guy is " NBA ready" then yes, it wouldnt surprise me if he left. However, i would be perfectly fine with him leaving if it means we win the Championship.

I think he's back to play with Battle. 3 Jersey kid's starting next year. The team next year can be really good.

Won't be surprised to see him test the waters though. Lydon to as they should.

He had a great 2nd half the first half there was some questionable decision making. I really hope he comes back get a little stronger and improve your stock.

Agree 100%

Had the same thought as the OP, and I'll add my own unnecessary Cassandra concern to the thread: if we're fortunate enough to get Malachi for a second year, how are he and Battle going to co-exist? Aren't they both ball-dominant guards?

I'm going to enjoy this week, but the potential for Malachi's bump in production and visibility to disrupt the rapport between him and our new freshman star has crossed my mind.

He's shooting 30% in the tournament and 25% from 3 and doesn't really project to do much besides scoring in the NBA. I just don't see how his stock is very high right now. He shows flashes, and I think he's going to be a great player for us, but I just don't see how he's a 1st round prospect right now, and he'll be 21 next season.

Worse players have been drafted on less. Roughly 80% of all players drafted end up being busts. That is the reason scouts and executives are willing to take flyers on raw talent.

All I care about is winning the next two games. I can't wait to see Roy Williams cry again! If we win the National Championship this year the whole starting 5 can go pro and Boeheim can retire. I will make that deal with the devil (aka John Calipari).

He should get feedback from the talent evaluators, and then decide.

I'll be shocked if Lydon and Richardson stay. They are going to get evaluated, will probably grade out first round and then leave. Good for them. I wish them all the best. Two frosh who got Syracuse to final four. That's incredible work and they deserve it. If they do come back, all the best for the fans but they should do what's best for them.

Syracuse will score about 80 ppg.

If Buddy Hield can stay in college for four years then Malachi can stay for two.

That said - if Syracuse wins the national championship I will personally drive the entire damn team to the airport on their way to the NBA Draft for all I care. It's worth it.

and I'll have a pen ready to sign that contract as soon as your ink has dried.

Richardson and Lydon are both back. Richardson is extremely close friends with Battle and Lydon will get feedback that he either needs to put on 25 lbs or significantly improve his handle.

Lydon and Richardson are both coming back IMO. Next year looks even more promising. Both have greats shots at the lottery and more money on the table. Of course I want them back and I believe they will figure out pretty quickly that next year is the year to go pro. Honestly think its not hard to figure out.

I remember in 2003 when everyone wanted Melo to come back for the following year because that's the year (2004) when SU supposedly would have been really really good. Instead, as we all know, Melo (and Gmac) lead Cuse to the title in '03. Now, of course Mal is no Melo but what if the same thing happens? Mal and another G (Silent G) help lead Cuse to the title this year, then Mal leaves, when it's next year many of us think SU will be potentially really good. I'll gladly take a championship now in exchange for Mal leaving after this year, like Melo. Of course, I still want him back.

If we win it all they can all go.

And I mean all of them. If Chino needs a drive to the Barclays I got it.

lol lydon and mali are coming back... they already know they are.. JB knows this... fans always freak out lol
