William Kyle appears to be on the shorter side

I don't know what that means.
From google AI -
“A player with a defensive rating of
59.5 in college basketball is an exceptionally elite and historically great defender. Defensive rating is an estimate of the points a player allows per 100 defensive possessions, so a lower number indicates superior defensive performance. “

Kyle continues to have a spectacular start to the season.

Drexel had two guys listed at 7' or taller, De Laporterie and Akuta. They combined for 7 points and 7 boards. Kyle went for 10 and 8 with 3 blocks and 3 steals. Statistically, Kyle did well, but the statistics didn't really capture his effect on the game.

Kyle is a really good player, on both ends of the court.

Delaware had a 6'11 center too. We've actually played teams with size this year. Not good players with size, but honestly there aren't many of those around.

Kyle is quick, he is long, he can jump, all of that helps him leave his man and get into passing lanes while never being too far away to recover. This, I think, has been this biggest difference maker between this year's D and last year's.

But also his smarts.

I feel like it hasn't been mentioned nearly enough, maybe not at all. Kyle is always in the right spots, and he doesnt get there by sumo wrestling his way into position the way Fab Melo or Arinze Onuaku did. He does it by being quick and anticipating. Its honestly amazing that he can get as many steals and weakside blocks as he does while also always being in good rebounding position. The guy deserves a lot of credit as a smart basketball player.

Oooooooohhhh I don't know, man, the NBA doesn't have a lot of room for bigs that are zero perimeter threat these days.
Particularly if you're undersized for a center. It's not impossible but he will definitely need to defy the odds. Having an incredible start to the season though.

If you are a recruit or family who reads this board, please read all boards. All fan bases have fans who are critical and are harsh, but Syracuse fans are teddy bears compared to most other Power 4 fan bases. Seriously.
And a lot of our fans are clueless, particularly when evaluating players.

He's on to us. 45 seconds in.

Can we take a second to acknowledge how bad some of those questions were?

I assume/hope it’s a student asking him the questions, but dang. “When did you realize the arms you had your whole life are long and that’s good for basketball?”

We’ve switched constantly over 3 games and faced teams with taller guys and even on the switches there has been little to no noticeable size advantages on the switches.

The length and physicality of this team shows up even if there is room to get more physical and tougher.

You also don’t block shots and rebound with your head
Now hold on just a minute………I think you may have stumbled upon a market inefficiency here. Let’s develop and/or recruit the first head rebounder

We should pin a link to the Kentucky board for comparison's sake.

At first glance on Saturday he did appear a bit shorter than I expected but as someone who saw Bill Russell live and up close many times I am ok with that.
