Win or lose Saturday, I am ready for the season to be over

The entertainment value for this team on a scale of 1-10 is a .025 at best. People wonder why nobody goes to the games. On to next season, hoping for some offense. I cant believe people are still posting about how bad the offense is week to week as if something is going to change with more injuries and 4-5 days of practice.

Have to recruit, the fake FG call was a great call, poorly executed but a great call. Syracuse should have won but didn't.

I would like to beat BC but 15 more practices for anyone but the two frosh qb's doesn't mean anything to me. Bowl game would be nice but not really a neccessity

And you call my drunken midnight posts bad? Whatever...

Some of this group of so called fans go overboard. From the time Larry Czonka left in 1968, when we went 8-2-0, until 1987 when we went 11-0-1, we were 91-115-2. Only 2 times did we win 7 games in a 19 year span, 8 winning seasons, 2 at 500, and 9 losing seasons, never did I want the season to end. It took a while but we eventually had 1987 and a good run. This is our first year in a real football conference, that alone will help recruiting, give it a rest, and enjoy the Holiday's.

Hey, more power to you. I would prefer not to at this point. It's quite disgusting. I like Shafer as HC and his influence on the D, we just need to score more pints, plain and simple. 1 year out of 13 doesn't work for me. Either start cheating and getting athletes or hang it up. I would prefer to not read spin from posters how some 2 star athlete is actually the next coming of Randy Moss.. Sorry. Been doing it for 15 years now.

Joe Blow from Horseheads is 5-10 165 runs a 5.2 40 BUT HE IS A BEAST!!! HES BLOWING UP!!! FSU IS MAKING A LATE CHARGE AT HIM BIT HES SOLID WITH US!!!
Been doing it for fifteen years? Well, I have been for fifty and I will be at the BC game on Saturday. I am glad I am starting my fifty-first year next year, God willing!

Northwestern and Illinois Fans still pack their stadium? I think you need to look again. I still have seasons, couldn't give the Pitt tickets away, BC I sold. It's not the people on this forum that are the problem
northwestern sells out when they play Ohio State and Michigan, with about 20,000 away fans

Not me, I would like to have one bowl game that I gave a crap about.

How was the fake FG poorly executed? Not getting the snap off before the Pitt timeout? No timeout and we have 6 pts.

I want 4-4 in ACC more than anything, I'll take middle of the pack, agree bowl and practices would be nice but not so crucial to the future.

IB, I couldn't disagree more about wanting the season to be over.

Couldn't agree MORE about the results being ugly, being disappointed by the offense and some of the on-field struggles, etc. But I love SU sports so much, I just don't resonate with this sentiment. I want to win, and I want to get back to bowls / be a consistent top 25 type of team. But I'm a fan to the core; I'd watch them [and did] even when they stunk.

In no way am I insinuating that anyone else is less of a fan blah blah blah--just for me, I love watching SU games, I love following the team, and I love that bleeding Orange is something that I share with my dad. Its definitely more tedious when we aren't good, but such is the price of being a fan.

Even mediocre bowl games help recruiting. This is not the NFL/NBA where losing helps a draft pick. Losing on Saturday does nothing but hurt the program, while winning does nothing but help the program.

talked with someone involved with marketing at Ohio state.. they cant get students to come or stay for the games like they did in the past.. in surveying they found one of the biggest issues is lack of wireless/cellphone coverage. The kids said they would rather go to a bar where they can chat/tweet/txt than sit at at he game and be isolated from their friends..

It's the end of civilization.

I for one am tired of reading posts about not wanting to read posts.

We've suffered through more than a decade of football that struggles greatly to entertain. It's not just this season.

THIS +++++

It's been a BRUTAL dozen years or so. It's beyond the point of rebuild. I really think this is the new normal for SU Football. A .500 Football team from a "Basketball" school.

You've been known for some over the top (yet entertaining) posts but this one caught me off guard. I'm not sure that any on here is more loyal than you so I'm having difficultly comprehending your reasoning.

I could understand your sentiments if we were 3-8 and completely out of the bowl picture but that's not the case. The 15 practices that you've dismissed are huge for the true freshman along with some of the other young guys.

Well IB...I must say that your OP is shaky potatoes in my book ;-)

Attendance is taking hits all over the place...heck I saw a friend cry in his Cheerios about his OU Sooners attendance.
OU is pretty unwatchable with their terrible offense and QBs

i have trouble comprehending anyone who feels like it's not work to sit through the games

i watch because i feel like i have to, not because i really want to

2 of the 3 years that haven't completely sucked since gerg have still felt like a chore most of the time.

there are a million college games a weekend that are fun to watch - how many people not directly interested in a Syracuse game would sit through it?

100% agree. Syracuse sports are in the entertainment business. If it isn't enjoyable, less and less will care.

Iwas sitting on thePitt 42 with the SU receiver right in front of me and never saw the play till they threw a perfect pass and nothing but end zone in front of him.

That being said, they should have used that fake on the second FG attempt and that missed. I had no confidence in the FG kicker watching him in previous games, warm ups and even making the earlier 42 attempt. I was hoping that they weren't playing for a fg on the second attempt. Were they? But when they sent the kid out there for a 53 yarder I said who hell are they kidding. If I was the Pit coach I would have called a time out because there is no way the coaching staff would be sending that kid out for a 53 yard fg. I think the fake might have worked on the 42 yard attempt.

I would like to know what prompted Pitt to call TO. To ice him? They saw the ungaurded receiver? Knew that SU would never really try the kick from 53?

Exactly, I watch out of a sense of obligation not enjoyment anymore, I still have seasons but finally the past 2 years I don't feel obligated to go to every home game. The tailgates are fun but the games kind of blow for the most part. It's just not a very good environment.

Much easier to stomach from a living room than the dome. 3 hour commitment versus 7-8 for me door to door

Boy, do I feel sorry for you. If I ever got to the point of not caring about my favorite team (and my alma mater) I would dread a long, dreary fall. Get help, man!

Mind boggling that they feel more connected to their friends social media than going to a football game with them. Dear lord.

Announcers said Pitt called TO to ice the kicker but that's not saying much since that crew wasn't on top of things the whole game. Maybe they saw it but the receiver was on the SU sideline and I didn't see any Pitt coaches pointing him out. No TO and he could have trotted into the end zone.
