Actually, no. Johnny has more attempts, 3 more TD and 4 more INT. Winston has been benched at the half in a lot of games. Winston's QB rating is 195.5 to Johnny 186.9. The Baylor QB actually has the best stats outside of completion percentage.

And of course W-L is a big deal to voters. FSU and Baylor are undefeated.

I didn't realize the Heisman was supposed to honor the best QB.

Agreed, Manziel it is. Kid is absolutely incredible. Unreal. SO much fun to watch play. Has kept his nose clean since season started and I think most of his doings were a college kid being a college kid. He's kind of a throwback. Say what you want about him being a punk, but IMO he wins again in a landslide

Hmm - interesting. Still doesn't change the QB rating... But, as you mentioned "statistics laugh at anyone else". I wasn't trying to prove Winston was better - just that the stats are not lopsided at all. And the blogger who compiled those stats came to that conclusion at the end of his entry.

Both are very good. Neither is perfect off the field it would seem. If there is any truth to the scandal - Winstons is much worse.

8-2 though, with games @ LSU and @ Mizzou. Win them both, with Johnny being Johnny and he would have my vote.

Lose one or more, even with Johnny being Johnny, he wouldn't get it over a a highly rated QB from an undefeated team about to play in the national title game. There aren't enough voters that would factor in aTm's terrible defense, fair or not.

This criminal charge though, that could change everything...quickly. Always something with top QBs.

One thing that really bugs me is the "JM hasn't said anything" crap. Clemons, ARod and many others screamed from the rooftops and they were wrong. I don't understand the "They have to please me" feeling people have to prejudge someone. "I don't know, he sure seems quiet to me" and now it leads to him being guilty.

not likely as she called police right after it happened,and couldn't I.D. right away.Unless police had the DNA tested and she picked him out of a team photo in january.This really smells of a major cover-up.

When did they get Winston's DNA anyways,his lawyer says they haven't yet from some of his statements.Or did they get his DNA before he hired the Florida State team legal mind

i agree with you. im just saying there is more evidence to come out. the immediate reporting by the alleged victim definitely lends credibility. i am still unclear exactly of what he is accused of doing.

It's so hard to know what to think in these situations anymore. There's so many "girl who cried wolf" situations and unfortunately that jades people in instances where something horrific actually happened.

If you have mutually consented s e x with a woman there is literally nothing you can do, once your DNA is there, to stop said woman from filing rape charges if she wants to. Your name is then irrevocably dragged through the mud, especially if you have any modicum of fame, regardless of guilt or innocence.

If there is physical evidence of rape then he hopefully goes to jail and there seems to be a bit of the TPD pushing this aside, which is creepy as hell. It's freaking football and it just amazes me how confused some peoples priorities are, especially a person that is suppose to protect their citizens.

That's actually really overblown. Don't have time to look it up, but I read something on this recently. It's a case where the number of false rape accusations is actually EXTREMELY low, but the ones that happen are generally higher profile than the true allegations so it seems distorted.

What really helped PSU is the timeline and covering this up. FSU didn't get the chance (if this is true) to cover up things for years and then cry "Oh, you're hurting the players that are here now, they had nothing to do with it." The longer you keep it covered, the better it is for the program.

Take this for what its worth, but I talked with a friend who is a graduate of FSU and he told me that some of the fanbase thinks this case opened up now because a fan of Ohio State was tipped off to file an open records request about this alleged matter and that something shady happened in Tallahassee and they wanted to rattle Florida State in hopes that voters would put Ohio State in the NC game. I told him its crazy to think that has happened, but with Urban Meyer and Ohio State fans being a little pissed off that they are clearly on the outside looking in who knows. All I can say is that this case appears to be more serious than I originally thought it was and if I was FSU I would be a lot more concerned that Winston may get charged than I was before. If Winston gets charged with a felony then he would automatically be suspended from the football team and the NC race would get affected immensely because without Winston and the backup QB having his knee scoped FSU would get housed by Alabama in a NC game and the voters may put Baylor or Ohio State in their if Winston got suspended before the BCS title game selection.
