They're 19th in offensive efficiency. I think people too often take them too lightly because of their pace but that team is a nightmare for anyone -- especially when you're not accustomed to facing them.
There's no doubt that Vandy's zone and ability to shoot against a zone is probably a worse match strategically for Syracuse, but that Wisconsin team is an absolute headache to deal with. Trust me... seen it happen too many times. They fight, they claw, they scratch, they work clock and they frustrate teams. Before you know it, you're only up 2 points with 5 minutes to play and wonder why it's not a 20-point lead.
I don't know how Wisconsin would handle the 2-3, as they're most effective because they work man-to-man teams over for 35 seconds and burn you on a backdoor or vertical ball-screen on the pick-and-pop. That said, they're very capable of working over a zone. I think the bigger deal that doesn't get talked about is that they don't turn the ball over. Syracuse is so awesome at scoring off turnovers and in transition and Wisconsin is capable of eliminating that aspect of the game.
I get why people fear Vanderbilt more. I do. But I'm telling you... careful what you wish for with these guys.
