how much $$$ does the ACC get, and how much does SU get?
SU needs a QB and a PG, not more $$$$.
Ok, maybe we need some $$$ so we can pay some football coaches.
Is there a math symbol for shlit-ton?This USA Today article does a good job of explaining it.

Using a figure of $500 million, the 10 FBS conferences will split about $350-375 million of which the P5 gets 71.5% meaning the P5 will split about $260 million. This does not include the "host bowl" contract money.
If you divide the 260 million out between the P5 teams (64) equally it would be about $4 mil per team. Add the host bowl money and the $6 million for the team playing and it is a shlit-ton of money.
EDIT: how the conferences divide up the loot is not very clear so I just figured for reference the $$ as an average for the P5.

Not enough to pay real salaries, in the football program.
Isn't that just this playoff though? Add that to the 20 mil we get now plus all the other conference bowl money. We might bank about 30 mil.
I think our entire big east take was less than the 6 mil for the playoff.
So, to quote the article, the "annual operating expenses" will be $125-$150M. I wonder where that skim is going. This USA Today article does a good job of explaining it.

I was being somewhat sarcastic because I'm still not sure what the budget thread really means. Is the implication we will not put enough $ into FB? I realize we have an IPF and didn't before but other than that, down the road, what is the implication of that whole thread? The extra $ we get from just being in the ACC won't matter if the University thinks we're already spending too much on FB.
No. the BCS auto was worth up to $18 million, depending on the year. I think that the average full member was bringing home about $8-9 million by the end of it. Still, we are making much more bank now, so your basic point stands.Isn't that just this playoff though? Add that to the 20 mil we get now plus all the other conference bowl money.
