With Jesse's high FG percentage he deserves more shots.

There’s not much true in here. Of course they instruct Jesse on keeping his hands up. It is basketball 101. It’s instinct and heat of the moment stuff he has to work through. They also work with him on all his weaknesses. Weight training to get stronger, working on short jumpers, different moves, etc. He didn’t just become one of the best centers in the ACC because coaches don’t work with him and teach him the basics and advancing his skills. Instructed to be a one dimensional player??
You may be right, but I have to believe if he is allowed to continually foul in practice then he has noreason to change it during a game. After 19 games and no improvement in this area, other than benching him is not a success. I know Swider and Jimmy are a burden and of no assistance defensively (Jesse is on an island) but he certainly will figure it out. A defensive monster in the making. Or maybe continually fouling below the shoulders is not a priority to fix. Unless he is not fouling in practice and only in games that is different and in his head. Just like Jimmy can't make foul shots I suppose.

Still pulling for Team Frankie for a more even platoon. He made all 3 of his shots in 8 minutes, and grabbed some rebounds.

There's two different arguments in this thread. One involves transfers and the other Jesse's talent.

College sports fans better get used to it. One and done started to change things, and then the "D" league. Pro ball is worldwide on top of that. So players can go across the pond and make money. Now the transfer portal is in play. No player with any talent is going to sit on the bench waiting for a shot. Teams like Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, are already feeling it.

It's a whole different world than what I grew up with. I don't like it. I've always had a big loyalty to SU players and loved to keep up with them even when they went onto the pros. My fan loyalty was to the players as much as to the 'Cuse.

I’d argue it’s the opposite, you can play through mistakes on a top squad because they can afford it. This team cannot. See yesterday as a prime example, every mistake dug the hole deeper and deeper.
I wasn't saying anything about why guys aren't allowed to play through mistakes, just stating JB doesn't let guys do it.

It would make for sound common sense that he should double his number of shots. After all, the closer you are to the basket the higher probability of making more shots, instead of others chucking up 3 pointers as the primary choice of shot selection. At the very least he should get more touches and have the option of shooting more or passing back out. And the question is at whose expense would these shots come from?
Isn’t he getting a lot of shots already? It seems like all the guys are looking for him regularly.

I guess it goes back to Coaching. Is Jesse better if you practice what his strengths and potential are, or do you instruct him to be a one dimensional player? The sky is the limit and if a non partisan advisor points out all these things to Jesse he will bolt. A glaring example - is he reaching in for fouls like a guard when all he has to do it put his arms straight up and jump straight up to alter or block shots. I'm sorry but that is basketball 101. Do that and add 10 plus minutes to his game. Game after game after game after game this is happening. It's not his fault anymore. He is not stupid. Who is not teaching him this in practice. My guess is the emphasis in practice is focused on offense and the 3 point shot. Meaning our only hope is to launch 3's to victory. How else can we account for Jesse continuing to get fouls at the waistline game after game. He should be well over that by now. 19 games into the season.
We don't know if it's coaching or bad habits. There are lots of players that are told not to do things that are tendencies but they still do them. It's hard for me to believe something like that would be reason enough for him to bolt to an unknown situation. He's a starter that stays on the floor as much as his foul situation allows. He gets touches even if it's not crazy high utilization. I just don't see much reason for him to leave with one(?) year left.

Joe certainly does. They’ve made a lot of nice connections. Jesse sometimes doesn’t help himself with the bobbles and dropping balls. If he can get stronger and also develop a 10 foot jumper he can be an AA. You can already see the improvement in his rebounding in how he rebounds, he’s getting a little tougher and beginning to really grab the ball.

Fans are really losing their minds. We’ve complained about our player development for several years now, and then Griff and Autry actually do a great job developing a kid like Jesse and somehow still get criticized. He’s the shining example of those coaches’ ability to develop a player—and how a talented but raw big man or forward should stay patient and can eventually have that breakthrough year. Yet there are still complaints about a player who’s been one of the few bright spots and the job his coaches are doing.

He wasn’t even in the box score when I looked yesterday.
Why did he leave?

Jesse is our best player by far and it isn't close. No complaints about him. Are you happy after 19 games his foul situation has not improved? That is not on Jesse. Look around the league, I don't see this issue with many if any players. This offense is about chucking 3 pointers and scraping out a little inside game. Jesse is our only hope on defense and is a hero in my book. The forwards are of no assistance and make Jesse look bad on many occasions.

Braswell is from the Carolina's, he completed his degree at Syracuse and probably wanted to get a graduate degree from Charlotte so he could work as an executive at one of the fortune 500 corporations located there. He's smart.
Do you just make things up as you go?

I haven't noticed any plays for Jesse. If it is - it's minimal at best. Bbuddy has twice as many shots as Jesse. It is hard to get into a rhythm when you don't see the ball for five possessions or don't know when to expect a pass inside. Sadly, It's all about the perimeter shots

Yup, definitely rebounding with some edge.

I laugh some when we talk about what Jesse needs to "do."

He's the most complete center we've had since Rak. Might even end up better. If Jesse does make all these improvements, he's a 1st rounder.

Edwards isn't really there yet to force it offensively. I get that hes our best player but is he supposed to start shooting threes too?

Hes having a very good season and hopefully has 2 more better ones ahead of him for us. I don't really think thrusting unrealistic expectations on him is smart I'm not really a fan of this thread.

Did he not finish his degree?
I don’t think so. Again, you make things up, you have one wrong thought and then you take that wrong thought and just continue to make stuff up. You’re so full of misinformation that I can’t believe you’re allowed to post here.

I read on this site that he had finished his degree. This is more of the no tolerance that you and a number of other people here exhibit which is driving many posters away and killing this site. Congratulations, you can talk to 5 other know it alls and you all can feel your right about everything.

Whereas my gif post was directed at you for many of your other posts, Braswell did indeed obtain his Bachelors degree (if you trust his LinkedIn entry) from Syracuse.
