The Orange looked like a very different team that took the field at Johnny Unitas Stadium last Memorial Day weekend — literally, a vastly different lineup, as the Orange graduated the bulk of their starting lineup from a season ago; but that doesn’t mean that Syracuse won’t be a team to be reckoned with come spring. Returning a veteran attacking unit in All-American Kayla Treanor, Kailah Kempney, Devon Collins and Gabby Jaquith, Syracuse is a team that still packs a bunch on the offensive end of the field. While Syracuse continues to rebuild where graduation hit them the hardest — through the midfield and on the defensive end — they have plenty of options in their task to fill those voids. Junior defenders Caroline Webster and Brenna Rainone looked at home in their new roles, while rookie Ella Hogan was one of the most exciting defensive players to watch on the day.
