Good guy who has been exposed as kind of a fraud over the years. Guy made a great chunk of money though. He had a healthy ego every step of the way as well. A position coach that got over his head and ran out of gas to really be successful in the modern landscape. You can either complain about it or work with what the game dictates in its present state. Some first class irony there
I think most coaches have blinders and pay attention to what they have directly in front of them. Fran implied that a few times this year, so I don't think it would be Dino just throwing out a line. When told of the record I think he would say he was happy for the seniors.Keep thinking about what he thinks about Cuse’s season. Assume if asked he would deny seeing any headlines.
Yes and no. Fran talked about being in touch with Kirby, who's his mentor, of course. But he also said, "you're welcome" to Clemson right after the Miami game. There's no way dino isn't aware that we're 9-3, ranked and beat 3 ranked teams this year. And it's gotta sting. Fran is doing a lot of the things Dino portrayed as "not possible" at Syracuse.I think most coaches have blinders and pay attention to what they have directly in front of them. I think that fits the blinders. Keeping in touch with Kirby is natural since, like you said, he's a mentor. Clemson is in the conference. It makes sense to know what's going on in conference. I doubt he knows details of other teams' records outside of the playoff picture and in other conferences. It would make sense that Dino is aware of the record and the win over Miami. I doubt he knows we beat 3 ranked teams. Most people outside the Syracuse fan base don't think we beat 3 ranked teams. Georgia Tech was ranked for one weak after beating what we now know was an overrated FSU and never made it back in after we knocked them out.Yes and no. Lot of coaches not fit for this landscape anymore. Brian Kelly is another. Being the “CEO” isn’t enough as you have to recruit players nonstop even when they’re on your team.Good guy who has been exposed as kind of a fraud over the years. Yep, I am sure it's exhausting and a complete Pain ITA. These guys get paid huge money but at the end of the day, it's what you sign up for. One of Fran's best attributes if not his best is he knows how to play the game as well as anyone when it comes to the current landscape and he doesn't hide from it or make excuses or play the remember when game like a lot of these guys.Lot of coaches not fit for this landscape anymore. I don’t mean to be a d but this nice guy thing… I mean I’m sure he wasn’t mean but he didn’t really go out of his way either to be “nice” from what I understand. He couldn’t recruit and he couldn’t game manage. Other than that, he was areal nice guy
Agree. I heard some shocking things. Outward appearance was that he was a nice guy. Leave it thereI don’t mean to be a d but this nice guy thing… I mean I’m sure he wasn’t mean but he didn’t really go out of his way either to be “nice” from what I understand.

he most certainly did not, like I said, Dino was pretty arrogant and carried a very healthy ego behind the scenes. He rode the wave and cashed all the checks after 2018 but did not build on it at all because I don't think Mr. dino thought he would be here after 18 or 19.I don’t mean to be a d but this nice guy thing… I mean I’m sure he wasn’t mean but he didn’t really go out of his way either to be “nice” from what I understand.

Most coaches recruit a few good players. Greg Robinson did tooHe recruited a number of good players, including LeQuint Allen, Oronde Gadsden Marlowe Wax, Justin Barron,

Yes. But no depth. Hurt us every yearHe recruited a number of good players, including LeQuint Allen, Oronde Gadsden Marlowe Wax, Justin Barron,

Some of Marrone's most important players were Robinson recruits. Nassib and Lemon were GRob guys. Wasn't PTG as well? Dino did well with Shafer recruits. Most coaches recruit a few good players. Greg Robinson did too
Dino had 8 years. Couldnt game manage or recruit depth. His record speaks for itselfSome of Marrone's most important players were Robinson recruits. Nassib and Lemon were GRob guys. Wasn't PTG as well? Dino did well with Shafer recruits.
