Some of Marrone's most important players were Robinson recruits. Nassib and Lemon were GRob guys. Wasn't PTG as well? Dino did well with Shafer recruits.

At least now we are recruiting against, and winning against, the likes of Florida, A&M, etc,etc. We used to get guys with offers from Akron, Bowling Green etc. Ya but, nobody can recruit to Syracuse!!

Yes and no. Fran talked about being in touch with Kirby, who's his mentor, of course. But he also said, "you're welcome" to Clemson right after the Miami game. There's no way dino isn't aware that we're 9-3, ranked and beat 3 ranked teams this year. And it's gotta sting. Fran is doing a lot of the things Dino portrayed as "not possible" at Syracuse.

Yeah, I remember after Dino had gotten beaten down a bit he said it wasn't possible for us to throw for 30 TD passes in the ACC.

I really would love to see if McCord plays in the bowl that he gets as many TD passes as possible to prove that's simply not true.

We all get it. We're better off. Fran is our HC now. We're all in. Fran > Dino.

But can we please remember what this program was the week before Dino arrived. There were freaking soda machines in the football facility for crying out loud.

He was a bridge coach. He built a foundation so Fran can build a mansion. Let's appreciate him for the positives he did and the players he recruited that were huge contributors this season.

Beating out Akron happened way too many times.

Occasionally a MAC level recruit is a future NFL player or high end college starter but I like our current recruiting neighborhood a lot more.

I would really like to be indifferent - I am generally with coaches getting fired from teams I root for…but I really dislike everything about Dino, I don’t think he’s remotely a “good guy” like many here are saying, and while I’ll acknowledge it doesn’t reflect well on my character I’m taking pleasure in his absolute failure this year. And I wish him complete failure on all his future endeavors.

What earthly difference does it make now? Fran was the right hire, and correct me if I'm wrong but there were plenty on this board who jumped on the Dino bandwagon the first few years, myself included.

He sounds like he might be a d***, but he inherited a 3 win program and left a 6 win program to the next guy. We had some really exciting wins with him before he burned out. I don't quite get the hate, but he was clearly checked out at the end, so I do get some of the resentment.

I know what you are saying but I would say that most can't recruit at Syracuse. We hired arguably the best recruiter in college football who then hired who many believe to be the 2nd best recruiter in college football as his DC. It helps that they both have strong ties to NJ, downstate NY/ Philly area as well as worked for strong SEC factory types for a few years as well.

The recruiting was the known entity the performance on the field was the huge RISK. They should both continue to improve as we hopefully continue to win games.

I do think Fran actually learned a lot from Kirby Smart as well, it's not just schtick

He was arrogant acting, never took responsibility, and even said towards the end that coaches can't win here because of NIL. Fran comes in and hits it out of the park.

On top of that, tons of people insist he was like the nicest guy ever. I actually think this board goes really easy on him.
