interesting that Triche didnt make the cut (after having been on it last yr). Scoop and kJo did.

Triche was on the list of 50 to watch last year and nothing this year? Interesting...

What exactly did Triche do to warrant being on this list? I know we all think he has great potential, but he's still not even All Big East caliber.

...sorry, but not sure Scoop does either...let it play out this year...can Scoop stop making mental errors...can Triche rise to the occassion with more confidence and aggresiveness...maybe both take care of last seasons errors and play and really add to the NC team we like to believe we have...

I think people just watched him make few mistakes as the starting PG on a #1 seed BE champion team, and expected him to take the team over

Triche shot 41% from the field last year and averaged 11 pts and under 3 rebs and 3 assists per game. That's not going to make anyone's list of anything for a starting player. Yes, we all love the kid, but he has to do something at a high level on the court before he will be getting any shot at Big East honors, let alone National honors.

Yahoo does a countdown of the top 50 players - No Scoop or Kris yet -- they are at #18 with Jon Henson. KJ will probably be in there, but I'm kind of surprised he hasn't shown up yet. I would put Scoop somewhere around 30 or so.

Not interesting at all. He doesn't deserve to be on the list, so he's not there.

I would like to believe that he steps up this year but unless he's gotten appreciably quicker, he's always going to be a tertiary option at best (not that there is anything wrong with that - you need players like that to succeed.)

I agree. I figured Triche was a preseason Wooden candidate last year because many of the people who nominate players were probably given all-conference and freshmen all-conference lists from 09-10 to help them come up with the 50 names. Triche made freshmen all-conference that year for a very strong team so it made sense for the nominators to think of him. He didn't make any of the all-conference teams in 10-11 and he's not nominated this year.
