As a concrete comparison, would you rather have 2011 season (27-8 lost in second round as a 3 seed) or 2018 season (23-14 lost in sweet 16 as 11 seed with play-in game)? You could also substitute the 2014 season for 2011 and/or this season for 2018.
2011 100% of the time.

2011 easily.

2011 was also the year we didn’t play an actual road game until mid January when we went to the Pete and fell behind 0-19.

I would rather be the 28-2 #1 seed that loses in the second round because that implies a stronger program foundation that will be more likely to be right back in the thick of things the following year.
28-2 all day long.

That was a wild game because after going down 19-0, didn’t we then immediately have an 18-0 run?

We actually played really well after that. It was down to four at the half and we were neck and neck for a while.

Don’t worry, I plugged my phone in.

THe latter you really have no control whether or not you get a bid. So many teams on the bubble. Look at Louisville and look at UCLA.

This post should be changed to losing in the second round 28-2 is a 1 seed.

Not a direct answer to the question, but maybe this will help show where I, and probably others, are coming from. I'm tired of seeing them as a 10/11/12 seed. I'm tired of watching games on the Sat/Sun before the selection show HOPING that other teams help Cuse out. I'm tired of seeing the season rest on the shoulders of other teams. Each year this team banks on 1 or 2 games in other conference tournaments to break their way. That's not fun to me.

1 would never happen, so I will pick 2. One seeds with that record aren't losing in the first round.

I get what you’re saying, but at the end of the day it’s one extra game. We shouldn’t have to choose one or the other because if you’re good you’re good, most teams who have two regular season losses make it past the sweet sixteen and I’d bet on the two loss team going into the tournament every single time.
That one extra game has a cool name for it so it means more, didn't you know?

These same people would want JB’s head on a pike if he lost to an 8/9 seed in the second round.
Sure but be didn't. Underwood is going to have a tough time getting over that loss.

Would you rather have Virginia’s season this year or Oregon State’s?

We would all take Oregon State’s
Uva wasn't all that good in the regular season. Gonzaga beat them by like 50. They lost to Miami and nc State at home and they lost to Duke.

The question should, 28-2 and losing to the 8/9, or living on the bubble and then going on a run to the Sweet 16.

Most years, 20-10 is not on the bubble. I'd rather be a solid 7 seed at 20-10 and get to the Sweet 16. But I'd rather be 28-2 and lose in the 2nd round than continue to be America's bubble team, even if we do make a run to the 16.

we’re headed in that direction though. It will be a crying shame if he has one in his last season, imagine that. We’re legit staring at one next year.
People have been saying this every year for the last several years. Yet he continues to win.
