It's not just that he played TE in high school. It's that his skillset/athletic ability are better suited for TE. It's more complex than just running a 4.5. He lacks the agility and hip mobility required to be a WR. At TE he's a mismatch that we need to utilize. At WR he's a big guy with good straight line speed that probably wouldn't get open versus a DB. That doesn't mean we can't put him out wide and get a LB or safety out of the box or use him to block on some of the screens.
Good arguement and ty for the chat. This is good stuff. Just saying, 6'3, 230 isn't gonna get it done from the TE position. I thought he did have the speed at wr to play on the outside. Hope I am wrong and he can play on the inside. Given our wr trouble at the moment, just think he would be a problem for opposing defenses at 6'3, 220 on the outside where we need a presence and block like a madman on running plays.

ok, with correct spelling, LB is built to play wr naturally and as a wr had the speed, size, and mindset to block as a young player. He had it all as a wr. We are struggling to field 4 competent wrs as of this past week.
