He’s signing Friday, so unlikely. Sounds like one of Lane’s first calls as LSU head coach was to Calvin Russell. Think that’s all it is.

He just did pull the class together no? Russell is a 5 star type, if you don't think with all these new SEC coaches being hired, some who had no chance a few weeks ago because of where they were currently working aren't going to make a late run then that would be crazy. They have more access to money, SEC prestige, etc as opposed to being non P4 HC types

I hate the USF coach who is now the Auburn coach, Lane is Lane but Sumrall at Florida is somebody I think is a fantastic coach and his kids at Tulane love him

Agree, my only point is on how we finished this season. You can't say that doesn't have some kind of effect on things. All this said, I hate what is happening with coaching. No matter what you pay a coach the big boys will just buy them out, but worse than that is what happens to teams like Ole Miss, to be a CFB playoff team? This is not new, and Karma will catch up to LSU again, remember it was Kelly who left an undefeated Cincinnati team. The almighty buck destroys loyalty and respect from these guys. I'll throw DART out there, should Fran expect this from players if one day he drops us for greener pastures? At least there is only 1 open portal now but this needs to be later and I believe after the final signing period for the class is done.
