That is pre-historic to an 18-year old who has lived his entire life with an iPhone.Correction: Many of the OTHER historic powers. Syracuse is a historic power. National champs, Heisman, Hall of Famers. Syracuse IS football history
It can't be prehistoric if there are records of it, cuz that's what history is.That is pre-historic to an 18-year old who has lived his entire life with an iPhone.

And those schools are losing kids and scrambling, too. There’s no avoiding it, especially since all the “agents” seemed to realize at once that they have the leverage given the expectations of signing day so they all recircled for more cash.I can live with losing a kid to Florida or LSU over $$$.
As long as he doesn't flip to Rutgers or UConn.

It’s been said before but Russell and coach Fran have the same agent.
You sir are a moron due to the fact that you are a Syracuse football fan - as we all are. Has nothing to do with your thoughts on who Russell will be signing withI might be a moron (lol might) but I think he signs with Cuse still.

And when he doesn’t you’ll admit you’re wrong about Steve, right?Russell’s decision will be a direct signal about how he feels regarding Angeli at QB. If he stays, it shows confidence in Angeli leading the offense. If he bolts, it’s basically a vote of no‑confidence in rolling with him under center.
You didn’t answer my simple question. You claimed Calvin’s not coming because Steve is a question mark. so you’re doubling down?Let’s break it down.
At ND Angeli was a backup. His best moment came in the 2023 Sun Bowl when he threw three touchdowns against Oregon St., but outside of that he was a spot duty qb. He never won the starting job outright and that’s telling. He was seen as a capable fill in, not a program cornerstone. This year he was slated to be third string.
He put up big numbers early in just four games. But here’s the catch: the system inflated those stats. Nixon’s offense has consistently produced high passing yardage totals, regardless of who’s under center. Angeli's stats were also heavily inflated against weak opponents like Colgate and UConn.
The achilles tear is a devastating injury for any athlete, but especially for a qb who already lacked mobility. His rushing stats were brutal. 23 carries for -33 yards. He’s a pure pocket passer with negative rushing production meaning defenses don’t have to respect his legs at all. Combine that with the Achilles tear and you’re looking at a qb who could be even less mobile going forward.
My prediction is he stays just my own take.An 18 year old's decision provides sufficient drama for me (well that and the Gilmore Girls). Can we stick to him in this thread?
Does it count if one of the other voices in his head admits he was wrong? And when he doesn’t you’ll admit you’re wrong about Steve, right?
College Playoffs vs Penn St. You should watch what he did thereLet’s break it down.

Agreed so many holes to fill. It's like buying a lamborghini but your roof at home is leaking like a sieve and the foundation is about ready to collapse but that's Fran! Says stuff and wears cool sneakers so it makes senseHope we land him, but I am way more concerned about improvements to the O line, D line, RB, & backup QB. Maybe TE too.
There are so many issues to address. This is like getting a Lamborghini but not having gas to run it.
This is just another way for Fran and Cuse to stay in the headlines. He was never flipping. Fran is a master.
It would build buzz if that’s the case. This is just another way for Fran and Cuse to stay in the headlines. He was never flipping. Fran is a master.
Running back?Hope we land him, but I am way more concerned about improvements to the O line, D line, RB, & backup QB. Maybe TE too.

Steve wiltfong released an article today saying Michigan is expected to flip a big time WR today, but it is not Calvin! Maybe good news for Cuse?I can promise you, he’s trolling U of Miami.
Michigan is the one to watch here if any
well that’s not true.Let’s break it down.

I agree the drama is unnecessary, but this is happening everywhere. Ohio State is dealing with it with Chris Henry Jr., Oregon still hasn’t signed two 5-stars, LSU hasn’t signed Lamar Brown, Florida hasn’t signed CJ Hester, and Georgia is still waiting on Justice Fitzpatrick. This isn’t a “Syracuse problem” — this is what happens when you’re recruiting 5-stars and elite prospects. It’s the nature of the game now, so Calvin Russell isn’t some isolated incident. I do agree, though, he shouldn’t have tied all this into his signing day. He could’ve just made a post on social media. Instead, he took the spotlight away from everyone else in that room who was having one of the best days of their lives.Okay, here's my take. If Calvin decides another school is a better fit, due to roster, coaching staff, NIL/revenue-share, location, etc., so be it. I wish him well. What I didn't like was him saying all fall that he was locked in with Syracuse, and his recruitment was done, etc. If you're unsure, just say you love Fran Brown, but don't say that other stuff. I get he's a kid, and I'm not bashing him, but I also thought his taking the mic at the signing ceremony at MN was a bad look. Takes away from the other kids who signed, including his teammate (TH), who signed with Syracuse. I hope Calvin sticks with Syracuse. Candidly, I'm kinda over the drama, though. WRs in the portal with more experience are fine by me...
