King of negative hypotheticalsGreat, but even if he's guaranteed to be here, if Angeli/Collins struggle I would hope that this staff goes out and finds another QB that can get him the ball.

And I was not one of them … point of fact the only thing I recall mentioning regarding McCord was that the Michigan game was not on him. One pic was the result of a poorly run route the other was him literally being crushed as he released the ball. McCord had a full and quite successful season under his belt and watching OSU vs Missouri cemented how important he was to OSUs offense. Our options aside from McCord here made him being anointed the starter a no-brainer and that is by no means meant to disrespect the players already on the roster but McCord was a proven commodity that showed an entire season of great play and the numbers backed it up.There were a lot of bozos here who said McCord wasn’t any good either.
I wasn’t calling out anyone specifically, but there were bozos including some closet OSU fans that post here who insinuated as much. And I was not one of them … point of fact the only thing I recall mentioning regarding McCord was that the Michigan game was not on him. Well they are OSU fans that tells me enough about their IQs.I wasn’t calling out anyone specifically, but there were bozos including some closet OSU fans that post here who insinuated as much.
I don't know why people are getting mad about a pretty benign statement. I sincerely hope Angeli/Collins are exactly what we need at the position, but until we see them on the field we have no idea.King of negative hypotheticals
Not correct, it depends on the state NIL Rules. In NY you can, it’s why Hampton is being paid by Oregon. I’m not sure what the rules are in Florida.I don't think you're technically allowed to discuss/sign NIL deals until you are enrolled and on campus?
Who doesn’t arrive until 2026 and we are entering what could be a pivotal season with more questions than answers. Heaven forbid anyone ask questions, have doubts or think anything other then everything will be perfect.Just a reminder - This is on a thread about Syracuse Football getting the #21 player in the COUNTRY according to 247...
and some of you are already upset and negative cause what if maybe possibly just in case oh crap one of our QBs aren't that good next season. Isn't it exhausting? My goodness. Be happy and enjoy things I promise it doesn't hurt.

All this commentary about QB's as if Nixon isn't going to figure out how to get the ball to our weapons and we have tons of them. Not to mention Fran and the staff bringing in hundreds and hundreds of pounds of new beef on the offensive line.I don't know why people are getting mad about a pretty benign statement. I sincerely hope Angeli/Collins are exactly what we need at the position, but until we see them on the field we have no idea.
Can we please get back to the joy about landing Calvin and stop dissecting our quarterbacks?
I have been a fan since the 70s and this is one of the greatest recruits we have ever had.
Why in God's name are we letting the air out of this joyful balloon so we can focus on what if debbie downer QB scenarios?
Please lets allow ourselves to bask in the glow of this and feel some honest to goodnes glee!
Who was that? There were a lot of bozos here who said McCord wasn’t any good either.
because the negativity is exhausting. He's not even playing for 18 months and we have people claiming he won't show up or we won't have a QB. Seriously, take a breath and enjoy some joy in your life.So Russell will throw himself the ball? Got it. Not a single soul on this board isn't thrilled about Russell, he also doesn't set foot on campus until 2026, this is a pivotal season for this program not sure why that isn't a consideration.
That can be said about everyone, including Russell.I don't know why people are getting mad about a pretty benign statement. I sincerely hope Angeli/Collins are exactly what we need at the position, but until we see them on the field we have no idea.
It isn't a consideration in THIS thread, because as you said he doesn't show up on campus until 2026. This is the transfer portal era, half the team could be different by the time he gets here, now is irrelevant in regards to Russell. So Russell will throw himself the ball? Got it. Not a single soul on this board isn't thrilled about Russell, he also doesn't set foot on campus until 2026, this is a pivotal season for this program not sure why that isn't a consideration.

All due respect- It's not so much WHAT you're saying that's the issue, it's more WHEN you're saying it.
We get it, lots of intangibles about the team, question marks about QB's, blah blah blah.
But can we celebrate the biggest recruit in the modern era of SU football, for just a little while?
Some folks here come off like the the guy who wins the lottery for millions, and then complains about the taxes.
For the love of everything holy...can we keep this thread on the subject at hand, Calvin Russell (remember him?), for more than a couple hours? Sheesh.
Also, WHERE he’s saying it. Take the QB concerns/complaints to a different thread. All due respect- It's not so much WHAT you're saying that's the issue, it's more WHEN you're saying it.

You can do whatever you wish ... free country ... I'm enjoying Russell's commitment. I responded to a post about Angeli in this thread and have done nothing more then defend my position if that is a problem for you then it's on you, not sure it's all that difficult.
Russell committing here is absolutely massive and in several threads on this board the discussion of lost momentum is being had based on the outcome of this season. Russell is a big part of this massive move in momentum and I pray we keep it. Sheesh why don't you go police all the other threads since you feel so strongly LOL.
Right back at ya.
I don't know why people are getting mad about a pretty benign statement. I sincerely hope Angeli/Collins are exactly what we need at the position, but until we see them on the field we have no idea.

the thread is to discuss Russell. It's not hard to take your complaints to the main board. The point goes over your head ... and this whole discussion started because of a post regarding Angeli in this thread so I don't know what to tell you.
Right back at ya.
