Class of 2026 WR Calvin Russell (FL) COMMITTED/SIGNED TO SYRACUSE (7/5/25)

A couple of things, friends. We shouldn't be posting VIP or subscriber-exclusive content on here. I'm seeing that fairly often these days. Secondly, I agree with other posters. It's an easy take to say Calvin is going to flip to Miami, because he's from there, he's been to some games this fall, Syracuse stunk yesterday, blah blah blah. I'm not worried. Oh, and regarding the post above about Wiltfong's Fong Bombs: On Rivals/On3, under Kamron Wilson's bio, Wiltfong and other analysts still have Wilson projected to flip to Nebraska. May want to update that, no? Lol.

Achilles is absolutely one of the worst injuries you can have. Some of the best athletes in the world had a torn achilles and never made it back to their former ability. Typically, it’s 12-18 months before you’re 100% and that’s with the absolute best care money can buy.

Achilles surgeries have gotten more advanced. Diggs was up to full speed in 10 months. Tatum is doing full speed on court drills 4 MONTHS after surgery.

Id be surprised if Angeli wasnt ready for next season, although agree Spring i wouldnt expect much physical at all.

I actually don't get why, if we have gotten to the point lf these players now getting PAID like pros, we haven't advanced to the next level of multi year contracts

Those are also professionals with the absolute best care money can buy. Not saying Steve won’t get great care, but there are levels. It’s still notoriously the toughest injury to come back at 100%, even when you are cleared, for at least a full year.

What do you think an NBA player is getting for care that a Power 4 starting QB isn’t?

No you see Tatum and Diggs are pro players so they get the best quality surgeons and physical therapists who know all the sacred techniques that the common pleb doctors don’t get to learn in their med schools and residencies while Angeli is operated on by Dr Nick from the Simpsons.

So…I already asked this question and all I got was this. Basically “trust me bro” and little else So I ask again…what is the major difference? What are you buying with all that money?

Because the way I see it…assume Angeli got his Achilles fixed by one of the Foot and Ankle or sports guys at SOS. Tatum got his fixed by a guy at Hospital for Special Surgery. Of course HSS is world renowned. But is the gap in care THAT significant? To where one is running up and down the court four months out from surgery and the other is likely gonna still be inactive by the start of practice in 2026? Im guessing not.

But im open to be being shown where im wrong.

Agreed. It’s not 1995 and you need to take age into account as well. This isn’t Aaron Rodger’s tearing his Achilles at 40 years old. It’s not a death warrant for a 21 year old.

This is the rehab he will be doing. Straight from the schools head orthopedist.

The surgery is not exactly complicated. It’s the rehab that determines how quickly players get back.

i’m well aware of the surgery, but to think each surgeon has the same pre and post care protocol and standards is not true. Then rehab is another thing all in itself.

I mean, all we hear is how every year players can come and go to the next biggest offer. I feel like we'd start hearing more about legally enforceable contracts if they existed
