Right now this all a lot of conjecture. Let’s wait and see before we all bust out our jump to conclusions mat. Bringing someone on campus for a discussion is not the same as bringing them on the football team.

This university has had many a kid suit up in Orange that have done a few things. And each and every one of you on this board cheered for them.

That isn't the question though. First, we didn't cheer for them before they set foot on the campus. And here is a big surprise for you. Those kids that had done a few things, once I learned of them, I never rooted for them again. So please don't tell me that everyone cheered for them. I didn't.

I’m not trying to be combative here. Maybe you sat there silently when they scored. You may have been awfully quiet during some of Jimmy’s best teams (I’m kidding here, I promise). Home invasions are one thing. A kid being caught with marijuana is another.

The point I was trying to make is that folks are passing judgment on the staff for kids that might never even play for the team. Let’s let things shake out before we start passing judgement on the staff.

Also, potentially judging another without all of the facts can be very harmful. From all accounts CFB is a straight shooter, discusses family, integrity and certainly life outside of football. After all it is just a game. However the potential medium it creates can be life-changing for some who use it wisely. I certainly cannot throw stones, and certainly by the Grace of God I could have, and should have been the one who was on the receiving end. Grace won, I was about that age as well and soon found myself at the true U. Go Cuse, and Dasher, I so appreciate your posts, truly do. Graces and ty

I have never said any kid should be tossed or punished in any way for smoking weed. And as I said earlier in this thread, I have never partaken. Of course there are some offenses that can be forgiven. But what started this was a home invasion where a guy was robbed in his home. And reckless behavior that resulted in the loss of a young woman's life. I have been very respectful of other peoples opinion that have disagreed with me. I have not been given the same curtesy. If we land some of these kids, I will hope like heck that they play great and act responsible once they are on campus. That is a win win for all of us. I just worry that we are playing with a loaded gun.

And certainly, how could one not be apprehensive? Seriously crushing set of circumstances that I know little about. Great skill would be required and most importantly discernment of current status and motive for the young man. That is just plain difficult in any circumstance. Big trust would be required...

As I said in a reply to Bnoro. I agree that bringing someone in who invaded a home with a loaded gun, shouldn't be on a football team.

Good for you and for him. I don't think we want to count all of the people that after their first offense, committed worse offenses after. I don't drink and drive. I think our society has been much too soft on drunk drivers. It's one of the reasons we have so many dead on the highways. I don't want to be on the road with drunk drivers.
That isnt the point. Nobody wants to be on the road with drunk drivers.

Obviously, I am not as confidant as you. This is Fran's second year as a Head Coach. We really don't know all that much yet on how solid his environment is as of yet. We hope it's as good as we want it to be. Time will tell. It looks to me, that we are cutting corners to match the talent level that we need it to be at with this schedule. I hope it works out great.
It is my feeling that Fran is Legit, I really don’t think he is P.T Barnham.

So, no updates on his recruitment? Well, at least the same argument is dragging on for multiple pages. At least we have that.
In the absence of any real info on Mr. Cook, perhaps we should have a spirited discussion on the merits and defects of Binghamton or some other city in the Southern Tier - Horseheads, Endicott, Corning?.

Man articles like this are stupid. I don’t think you deserved the troubled label for marijuana and i’d be interested to hear the theft story.

Exactly. And the theft I believe was a key fob that he took for whatever reason, except he didn't take it to steal the car. This is ridiculous. Almost sounds like because a black kid didn't immediately comply to return the fob they banged him with a theft charge.

I'd be more interested to know what transpired for the Washington departure.

100%. That’s wouldn’t be my biggest concern, more so It looks like Arkansas is going to pick him off too? At least an Arkansas site thinks so? really hope this isn’t the case.

Dont ask how I know...but they make weed vapes that look like key fobs. If this was something taken from a vape shop or similar it could be that.
