Would love for you to be right![]()
My prediction for tomorrow: Duck soup. Orange crush!

When you can get substantially more $, go to Ross Douglas and play for a Top 5 team why wouldnt youSecond doesn’t get us anywhere….he’s a very talented kid who might be in college only a few years. Fran tried his best but Oregon is still Oregon. I don’t see the allure because he’s from the Rochester area so it seems like a no brainer to go to Syracuse.
In this situation, added time and expenses for loved ones to travel and see you play. When you can get substantially more $, go to Ross Douglas and play for a Top 5 team why wouldnt you
I was alluding to the Oregon predictionEast coast
Dash, while I share the same fears, sometimes it’s better not to verbalize it. The bnorovirus is a terrible disease.I'm actually worried the other way. We lose guys because the schedule is too tough and some start to say same old Syracuse.
How is he going to get more $? Honest question. When you can get substantially more $, go to Ross Douglas and play for a Top 5 team why wouldnt you
Agree. I also feel (no inside info) that Fran is pushing in all the chips on Russel. Would be a game changer to pull a five star for perception alone. If he picks Oregon as expected at this point. Staff should always leave the door open for him if he has a change of heart, but I hope they really prioritize other guys that actually want to be here, be ambassadors for the community, work hard, and put the work in to develop into men. Staff put a full blitz on to try and land this kid trying to get him to buy into the culture. If he doesn’t pick Cuse, he probably wasn’t a culture fit at this time anyway. If there is a change of heart let him approach the Cuse staff and inquire to them about buying in. It would be nice to win over the #1 recruit in NY every year, but he has truly want it as well. Too much other great things and developments happening for the program to let a loss today sidetrack any momentum. Watch the Adam Breneman interview.

Some kids want to get away from home. And Oregon is about as far as you can get from Rochester.Second doesn’t get us anywhere….he’s a very talented kid who might be in college only a few years. I think it’s his relationship to Ross which is sealing the deal. They are close otherwise I think he would be Cuse. Still a lot of time left and variables before signing day. Let’s just wait and see what happensSome kids want to get away from home. And Oregon is about as far as you can get from Rochester. View attachment 252761
It’s always disappointing. You want to see your team win the best recruiting battles. Not being a culture fit at this time for Syracuse was not intended to insinuate a character flaw at all. Not picking Syracuse does not equate to a character flaw. When you put a full blitz on trying to land someone, but they choose elsewhere. You’re really getting that full picture of what the culture is like in that process. If getting that very close picture because your a top priority target and you still decide to choose elsewhere, your probably making that decision as a factor because you see yourself a better fit elsewhere. That’s really ok and I emphasize at this time when mentioning the culture fit because people can change and where they best fit changes. Purpose of the post was I think by now he should know what Cuse is about. If he doesn’t choose us, I understand the staff moving on if that’s what how they decide to approach it and if it’s meant to be down the line, I’m all for it to happen. We have plenty of guys that are here now and guys that are getting recruited that maybe don’t have the same high profile that Messiah has, but maybe better fits right now and should be appreciated and welcomed with open arms. The point here is that they did all they could really do, don’t close the door if he doesn’t choose Cuse today, but work harder to get others in the door that unequivocally see Syracuse as the best fit for them. The impact I think Syracuse is now making in New York, the goal eventually is the top players every year in the state will be dreaming to play and be apart of the culture at Cuse like the wall Penn State has put up for the best talent in Pennsylvania.Sour grapes much?
Kids have all sorts of reasons for choosing the college they do.
Him maybe wanting to go away, see a different part of the country than CNY/WNY,
or he’s tight w his position coach (who is now at Oregon),
or whatever -
None of it reflects a character flaw on his part, and/or not being a cultural fit at Cuse.
He could go play college football in Hawaii lol. Some kids want to get away from home. And Oregon is about as far as you can get from Rochester. View attachment 252761
I'm not sure. Fran is in a different leagueNo I am saying that kids won't come here if we go 4-8 this year
But then regret that decision a month later until he is out there on his own and not in the comforts of his area he may have buyers remorseSome kids want to get away from home. And Oregon is about as far as you can get from Rochester. View attachment 252761
I get that, especially since I don't live in CNY, but man it seems like a higher percentage of highly rated kids in the immediate vicinity of SU want to "get away from home" than some other regions. Some kids want to get away from home. It was a big deal to keep Tim Green from going to Penn State once upon a time. Certainly helped Dick MacPherson...I get that, especially since I don't live in CNY, but man it seems like a higher percentage of highly rated kids in the immediate vicinity of SU want to "get away from home" than some other regions.
We rarely hear about the best kids in PA wanting to get away from home. Typically they're considered a lock for Penn St. Same for Ohio kids and Ohio St. Texas kids and Texas. Etc.
Let's be honest, it's really about money and recent success. It's almost a miracle that Fran has us in the running for some of these guys. If we can string together a few good seasons, we'll land more.
