Lol. No. I'm just being wishfulIs that a threat?
I'm certain the mods will look forwards to rebuilding the forum in the event of this extremely fortunate series of events. If Syracuse lands Calvin and Messiah, this forum will literally explode![]()
I know this is probably a silly thought, but has a bridesmaid coach ever gotten a player to announce who his #2 was?Shows me he has a lot of respect for the coaching staff. We never would have gotten this visit before never mind a week before commitment. Can’t fault him if he picks Oregon but it’s another crazy situation to show what Fran has done on the recruiting front. Would send a shockwave if he stays home or Russell commits. If we somehow landed both….oh boy.
The positive i see is even if he picks Oregon, there is always a chance he wants to get back home after a year or two. Fran will be waiting with open arms.Mike M. had a piece on Messiah today. It's VIP, so I won't share details, however, under Messiah's bio on the 247Sports Web site, it notes that he's officially visiting Syracuse on June 5. I still think Oregon is the favorite here, but it's a positive sign that Messiah is taking an OV to 'Cuse![]()
No it's a promise.Is that a threat?

I'd be very happy with one.If Syracuse lands Calvin and Messiah, this forum will literally explode![]()
It's probably an uphill battle for both, but as far as I can tell, Syracuse is firmly in the mix for both. I agree - one would be nice...I'd be very happy with one.
I'm concerned that it's an uphill battle with both.
Syracuse is on a hillI'd be very happy with one.

Yes and no. I could see it a number of ways. The .com article says he has a NIL deal in place with a Rochester auto group. Does this help Syracuse? "This is Messiah Hampton from the University of Oregon Ducks football team." Wouldn't the Rochester auto dealer want their celebrity endorser playing in their local market?
I know as a dyed in the wool Syracuse supporter I would not consider this group for a vehicle purchase if they are paying NIL to a player who is 3,000 miles away and not supporting a Syracuse player from the local market. Don't we have a real good Dlinemen from Rochester who they could support?Yes and no. I could see it a number of ways.
Those types of deals are how smart college coaches can help HS recruits out before they’re on campus. Presumably it’s better for a local college but only if we helped to facilitate it. But could see an auto dealership also taking a long view and betting on a kid being a national player too and it has zero to do with where he’s going to play. Not to mention he still has his senior year of HS.
If this Auto Group isn't supporting a player bound for SU I'd like to know the name of the dealership.Yes and no. I could see it a number of ways.

Quante Gillian’s our best dline recruit in class of 25 went to high school in Rochester.I know as a dyed on the wool Syracuse supporter I would not consider this group for a vehicle purchase if they are paying NIL to a player who is 3,000 miles away and not supporting a Syracuse player from the local market. Syracuse football listed in top 7 of preferred schools for New York’s best playerIf this Auto Group isn't supporting a player bound for SU I'd like to know the name of the dealership.
7. Looking for an interesting prospect to follow? How about four-star wide receiver Messiah Hampton? Hampton is the nation’s No. 100 recruit, No. 11 receiver and the highest-rated prospect out of New York since 2019. He is committing on June 13 and is down to seven schools: Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Michigan, Miami, Syracuse and Georgia. Fran Brown and the in-state Orange may be fighting an uphill battle considering the rest of Hampton’s contenders, but kudos to Brown for making the final cut for a rare top-100 in-state prospect.
Perry started last year and will play a lot this year too.Quante Gillian’s our best dline recruit in class of 25 went to high school in Rochester.
Perry is from Buffalo but I get your thinking.Perry started last year and will play a lot this year too.
Jobity is the best WNY player on the roster at the momentPerry started last year and will play a lot this year too.
