The lack of confirmation does seem a bit odd.

Not to derail but I noticed the photo shopped 'Syracuse' on the front of the jersey instead of 'Orange.' Perhaps just me, but I think it's a much better look from a branding standpoint. Similar to how we recently changed the basketball jerseys from 'Orange' on the front to 'Syracuse' (script) on the front.

Here in the midwest a lot of folks still refer to us as the Orangemen rather than the Orange. But everyone knows we're Syracuse! Maybe something we think about as a small refinement when the Nike jersey renewal comes about, otherwise I think our jerseys are sharp.
