What we lack in quality we make up for in quantity.
I would love a team of Alec Lemons. Ran about a 4.6 at the combine but he was a great route runner and caught just about everything. Some people on this board have been pretty critical over the years about guys who were simply possession receivers, without the speed to be game breakers. But we could really use a couple of those guys right now.
Zone certainly makes it easier for our 160lb receivers to get off the line.Tommys last drive they switched to zone making them easy to pick apart .
What's the name of tommys HS o lineman who transfered from rutgers, if we had got him or even just another transfer on the line that could've made a big difference IMO, along with a bunch of transfer WR's. i went through courtney jacksons transfer list and I'm amazed at some of the offers he had, tommy made a nice play to avoid the free rusher great throw should've been a TD, kim mccloud must've been really bad... atleast hes gone if were looking for a silver lining.Tommys last drive they switched to zone making them easy to pick apart .
But the healthiest unit we have...All of our guys are either slow, small, or can’t catch. Some of them are all 3. Tim Lane/Rice Moss days all over again.
Whats the deal with ed hendrix, I'm sure its been said a thousand times but why isnt he playing
I've never really been critical about that, although you're right, several others have. What bothers me more is we have a lack of WRs who know how to adjust to a throw in the air. They don't seem to know to come back for a ball or, in the case of an underthrown deep ball to stop, make a slight move to get between the defender and the ball and then go UP and make a play as opposed to staying down and trying to catch it in stride. AET and Ish were very good at doing this. Some people on this board have been pretty critical over the years about guys who were simply possession receivers, without the speed to be game breakers. They also don't seem to improvise when the play breaks down. I've seen them run their short routes and the just stand there while TD runs OB. Make a damn move and find a spot. It's WR 101.

I mentioned this a year ago but I'd also like to see us hire a WR coach from the state of Florida. Lustig took over the outside WRs in 2018 from Kim McCloud. I've been underwhelmed by the groups performance since then.
Custis was listed as a starter his junior year before he got hurt during the preseason. As a sophomore he wasn't starting over Ismail or AET.Same thing each year imo. Custis wasn’t given a real chance to contribute until his senior year, Cam Jordan hardly given a chance last year, Ed not given a chance this year. So help me lord if I see an impressive highlight from RTB in practice.
What we have is not getting it done, so I do not see validity in saying that the backups aren’t ready. Another reason why I think our scheme isn’t working.
